Paramount+ Weekend Watchlist: Shows (Feb. 6-8)

If you're looking for a new show to binge-watch this weekend, Paramount+ adds new shows and new episodes every week that you need to add to your watchlist. Paramount's streaming service might be more known for its deep library of movies than its original shows, but those shows are still worth watching. Plus, it doesn't just add new original shows, it also adds new shows from Paramount's networks, like CBS, and coproductions with international studios.

So let's find your next favorite show. Here are the three new to Paramount+ shows you need to be binge-watching this weekend.

'School Spirits' season 3

Genre: Supernatural teen drama

What's it about? In "School Spirits," Maddie (Peyton List) disappears suddenly in the fictional town of Split River, Wisconsin. Unfortunately for Maddie, she's dead. Even worse, now she's stuck in the afterlife at her high school, forced to investigate her own demise.

Why you should watch it: This teen drama has a novel premise that seems to resonate with fans. The show is currently rated 91% by critics and 92% by audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Genre: Reality

What's it about? "Canada Shore" is set in the lakeside city of Kelowna, British Columbia. This reality show features 12 housemates who hail from north of the border, and while they may like Tim Horton's like any stereotypically polite Canadian, they can get seriously rowdy.

Why you should watch it: Remember "Jersey Shore"? Does the phrase, "Gym. Tan. Laundry." still ring a bell in your mind? Then "Canada Shore" might be the show for you. Much like its predecessor, this show follows the daily lives of a bunch of young partiers all living together under one roof, and "Jersey Shore" alum Nicole "Snookie" Polizzi is in charge of the show.

'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy'

Genre: Science fiction

What's it about? "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy" is set in the 32nd century, a future centuries ahead of most shows or movies in the "Star Trek" universe. In this part of the timeline, both Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets are recovering from a cataclysmic event, which does get depicted briefly in "Star Trek: Discovery." In this show, the story revolves around Starfleet's first new class of cadets in over a century, training aboard USS Athena in San Francisco.

Why you should watch it: "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy" is currently loved by critics, with an 89% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences are less convinced, though, rating it just 43% fresh. That said, both those scores are up from the series premiere, so it seems that the latest "Star Trek" show is growing on people.
