New on Hulu in September 2025 — All the New Shows and Movies to Watch

Though Hulu isn't long for this world, September is an exciting month for the streaming service's biggest shows. Tons of new library movies, originals and more are also being added to Hulu's library this month, so there's still plenty to enjoy before it gets folded into Disney Plus at some point next year.

For starters, Hulu's rolling out a new season of the fan-favorite comedy sci-fi series "Futurama," and this time, it's taking a page from Netflix and making all the episodes available to binge at once. The hit comedy-mystery series "Only Murders in the Building" also returns for season 5, where we'll finally get answers about the shocking death that capped off last season's finale. Plus, there's a new biopic that dives into the world of online dating and the tech executive who helped pioneer its meteoric rise.

It's rare to find a show that can balance comedy, suspense, and an all-star cast as effortlessly as "Only Murders in the Building." Since season 1, the comedy-mystery has captivated audiences with its sharp wit, twists and turns, and the irresistible chemistry between Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Now heading into its fifth season, the series shows no signs of slowing down.

Once again, the Arconia takes center stage in a gripping new mystery. Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger after their beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), was discovered dead in the courtyard fountain. Their investigation takes them to the shadowy corners of New York City and beyond, where they unravel a treacherous web of secrets linking powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the enigmatic residents of the Arconia. Along the way, the trio uncovers a growing rift between the New York they thought they knew and the one rapidly taking its place as new, even more dangerous players begin to rise.

They're back, baby! Hulu's hit animated sci-fi comedy returns this month with 10 new episodes — and they're dropping all at once, Netflix style. When Hulu relaunched the series with season 12, it stuck to the classic week-to-week slow drip of new episodes. Depending on how this binge release model works out, we could see Hulu adopt a similar approach for its other shows.

Judging by season 13's trailer and official synopsis, more intergalactic hijinks are in store for our favorite employees at Planet Express. Bender takes on a kaiju, Fry faces off against a romantic rival for Leela's affection, and Dr. Zoidberg seems to ascend to heaven somehow. The whole gang of Futurama's superb vocal cast returns, including John DiMaggio (Bender), Billy West (Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Leela), Maurice LaMarche (Kif), Lauren Tom (Amy), and Phil LaMarr (Hermes), alongside newcomers Tress MacNeille (Mom) and David Herman (Scruffy).

'Swiped'

Based on the trailer, "Swiped" gives me big "The Social Network" vibes. Both are biopics that follow the dramatic rise of the world's latest social media obsession, only instead of Facebook, this time, the focus is on dating industry entrepreneur, Whitney Wolfe Herd (Lily James), founder and former Bumble CEO and co-founder of Tinder. She turned the industry on its head not once, but twice, ultimately becoming the youngest self-made female billionaire.

"Swiped" follows her career trajectory as she uses determination and creativity to break into the male-dominated tech world and create a groundbreaking, globally recognized dating app. It also delves into her early days as a co-founder of Tinder and the pivotal events that led up to Bumble’s public debut in 2021. If you're a fan of biopics or corporate dramas with a personal twist, "Swiped" definitely looks like one to add to your watchlist.
