Made by Anna Hall who was born and raised in Dun­blane but was working in the news­room of a radio sta­tion in York when the news broke of the massacre in her home town. She has made several documentaries since but as the 30th anniversary approaches, this one looks at the grassroots efforts in the aftermath to make sure such a tragedy never happens again.

After her first documentary she left camcorders with the bereaved families so they could document their experience if they so chose. John Crozier did just that and this documentary is based on the 60 or so tapes he filled as he tried to deal with the loss of his daughter Emma, bring up her siblings and cope with life.

They are, it almost goes without saying, incredibly poignant, emotional and powerful. But beyond that, they document the grassroots campaign (the "Snowdrop Petition") that succeeding in bringing insringent new gun laws that even the powerful gun lobby was powerless to derail or dilute. From the very worst of humanity to a shining example of the very best.
