May is already off to a very good start when it comes to streaming, thanks to the bounty of new TV shows premiering on Netflix, Prime Video and more of the best streaming services, as well as broadcast and cable TV.
This week’s lineup has something for everyone. Want spy intrigue? Check out "Citadel" season 2" and "Legends." Have a taste for period stories? "The Other Bennet Sister" and "Amadeus" will be right up your alley. If you're craving thrills and horror, "The Terror" and "Lord of the Flies" will keep you up at night.
‘Lord of the Flies’ (Netflix)
The vibes: “Adolescence” but times a dozen and on a deserted island with no adults.
The plot: Based on William Golding’s seminal novel, this miniseries strands a group of British schoolboys on a remote island after a deadly crash and then watches them turn feral in real time. e. Early attempts at order, led by Ralph and his brainy ally Piggy, fracture into rival factions. Before long, civilization feels like a very distant memory.

‘Citadel’ season 2 (Prime Video)
The vibes: Globe-trotting spy drama packed with glamor and intrigue
The plot: Three years, a couple of abandoned spinoffs and one very expensive first season later, “Citadel reloads.” Mason (Richard Madden), Nadia (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) and Bernard (Stanley Tucci) are dragged back into the espionage game thanks to Manticore’s latest mess. The fix? Jet off (again), recruit a fresh batch of questionable operatives, and untangle a conspiracy with world-dominating ambitions.

‘The Other Bennet Sister’ (BritBox)
The vibes: Jane Austen, but make it a wallflower’s revenge.
The plot: This “Pride and Prejudice” remix hands the mic to Mary Bennet (Ella Bruccoleri), the chronically overlooked sister whose chief crime is not being dazzling. The opening episodes replay familiar territory from her sidelined perspective before sending Mary beyond Meryton. As she escapes her sisters’ shadows, Mary begins to carve out an identity that isn’t defined by the marriage market — though romance, naturally, still finds a way in.

‘Legends’ (Netflix)
The vibes: Paper pushers turn into spies in a story based on real life.
The plot: In 1990s Britain, a quietly radical anti-drug experiment recruits a handful of unremarkable customs officers and drops them into deep cover with entirely new identities — “legends,” in agency speak. Led by Steve Coogan’s exacting handler, the mismatched group must infiltrate dangerous gangs without the benefit of real spy training. Just nerve, instinct, and a lot to lose if they get caught.

‘M.I.A.’
The vibes: Neon-soaked noir and sweaty intrigue
The plot: Etta Tiger Jonze (Shannon Gisela) has always wanted more than the slow-burn life of the Florida Keys, but when a brutal loss destroys her family’s drug operation, she heads to Miami with vengeance on her mind. What starts as payback becomes a transformation into the kind of figure the city both fears and worships.

‘The Terror’ season 3 (AMC+)
The vibes: “American Horror Story” meets “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
The plot: Season 3 ditches icy expeditions and wartime camps of the past for a present-day psychiatric hospital where Dan Stevens’s Pepper, a blue-collar guy, is wrongfully committed. Inside New Hyde, fellow patients scheme and doctors deflect, but something far worse may be lurking. As Pepper searches for a way out, he’s forced to confront the possibility that the true horror has been with him all along.

‘Unconditional’ (Apple TV)
The vibes: She is mother, hear her roar.

Her mother, Orna (Liraz Chamami), refuses to accept the official story, launching a relentless fight to clear her name, but each step forward pulls her deeper into a maze of corruption and criminal intrigue.

‘Amadeus’ (Starz)
The vibes: Talk about a heated (musical) rivalry.
The plot: When Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Will Sharpe) hits Vienna at 25, he’s brilliant but deeply unserious about everything except music. Enter Antonio Salieri (Paul Bettany), the devout court composer who hears God in music — until God starts speaking through Mozart instead. As Mozart’s talent explodes alongside his bad habits, Salieri’s admiration festers into obsession, dragging both men into a decades-long psychological duel.
