1. Fitbit Inspire 3: was $99.95 now $84.50 at Amazon

Fitbit is on a mission to help people log their day-to-day health. The entry-level Fitbit Inspire 3 offers basic sleep and activity tracking to help you stay on top of those health goals. While free Fitbit members can track their time spent asleep, Fitbit Premium offers subscribers further insight into their rest, as well as giving a sleep score, but it'll set you back $9.99/month. This also unlocks a smart wake vibrating alarm to help you fight morning grogginess. With 15% off this Memorial Day, the smartwatch is selling for $84.50 (down from $99.95) — not the lowest price we've ever seen (that's $74) but the lowest we're likely to see until Black Friday.

2. MorePro Smart Watch
Best Apple dupe

2. MorePro Smart Watch : was $79.99 now $39.99 at Amazon

Designed with a square digital screen, the MorePro Smart Watch mimics the flagship Apple Watch. But it's a tenth of the price. Providing round-the-clock insights, this budget tracker has sensors for heart rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, stress, sleep stages. I will flag insufficient sleep or irregular routines. One Amazon reviewer says: "Sleep tracking runs quietly in the background and provides a clear summary that’s easy to review in the morning." Half price this Memorial Day, $39.99 is outstanding value on this functional smart watch.

3. prxxhri Smart Health Ring: was $59.99 now $53.99 at Amazon

I recommend the Oura Ring to everyone who asks me about it. But, understandably, the price and subscription fee aren't always justifiable, so I've been searching for alternatives this Memorial Day. The prxxhri smart ring, now 10% off at Amazon down to $53.99 from $59.99, immediately caught my eye. It can tell you all about your sleep stages and measure your heart rate every 30 minutes through the night. Read more about how it compares to Oura here.

4. SOUYIE Smart Bracelet
Best screen-free tracker
Save $40
4. SOUYIE Smart Bracelet : was $129.99 now $89.99 at Amazon

Sleep experts are always telling me how important it is to limit screen time in bed and this faceless sleep tracking bracelet helps you combat that issue — no bright light, no notifications. After 31% of this Memorial Day, you can get it for $89.99 (was $129.99.) You can get insights into your sleep stages (light, deep, REM), sleep duration and awake time, and it'll log any daytime naps too. What about comfort? One Amazon reviewer writes: "I barely feel it on my wrist, even when I sleep, which makes it easy to wear 24/7."

5. Beautyrest Sleeptracker Monitor
Contact free sleep tracking
5. Beautyrest Sleeptracker Monitor: was $74.73 now $74.73 at Amazon

Easily irritated by accessories in bed? Me too, even the most comfortable wearables can sometimes feel flustering. If you agree, the Beautyrest Sleeptracker is a great option for monitoring your sleep discreetly. Two sensor pads sit under your mattress, recording your heart rate, movements, and wakefulness. The tracker sends your sleep data to a compatible app for you to view. You also get a daily email with sleep tips based on your behaviors. It may not be discounted right now, sitting at $74.73, but it is a more affordable under mattress tracker mat than the top-rated Withings Sleep Analyzer.

How to choose a budget sleep tracker

  1. Set your budget
  2. Think about overnight comfort
  3. Think about whether you want to wear it in the daytime and which metrics you want to track

Finding a quality sleep tracker under $100 that won't conk out after a few night's use is not easy. But I've searched through customer reviews at Amazon, Walmart, and BestBuy to find the ones that can really be trusted. Here's how I advise you find the right budget sleep tracker for you.

First, set your budget. Do you want an ultra-cheap option below $50 or are you willing to spend a bit more at a well-established brand like Fitbit? Remember to account for any subscription fees, too. Knowing your price points helps organise your search.

Less than $100, a budget sleep tracker will never offer the depth brands like Oura or Whoop do, but you can still get plenty of useful insights. Cheap trackers typically focus on sleep stage data and overall sleep duration, but you can get ones (like the MorePro smart watch) that keep tabs on biometrics like heart and respiratory rate, too. Ultimately, for more in depth sleep health and fitness metrics, you'll have to splash out on the bigger brands.

Finally, consider overnight comfort. If you're easily disturbed by wearables in bed, it's worth considering a contactless tracker like the Beautyrest or a subtle smart ring. Otherwise a smart watch that can log your workouts and activity by day is great value.
