Amazon has slashed the price of Whoop's most lab-accurate sleep tracker —save $60 on the medical-grade wearable
A new Amazon Prime Day deal slashes $60 off the Whoop MG, a sleep tracker that promises clinical-grade data
At-home wearable sleep trackers have revolutionized the way we sleep, offering us key insights into our sleep stages and how to fall asleep fast, and Amazon has slashed the prices of plenty this Prime Day. However, not all wearables offer lab-accurate or even reliable sleep data, which is why the Whoop MG, now down from $359 to $299 at Amazon in a new Prime Day deal, stands out.
A top choice for athletes who prioritize recovery-enhancing sleep in our best sleep trackers, the Whoop MG gets its name from the medical-grade sleep tracking it can provide. "It gives you detailed breakdown of how your sleep and recovery is, or isn't, supporting your physical performance," says lead tester, Eve Davies.
The Whoop MG is an upgraded version of the Whoop 5.0. It uses premium hardware paired with the Whoop Life Membership. While the Whoop MG and Whoop 5.0 offer the same advanced health sensors for sleep staging and baseline tracking, the MG offers more health features, such as blood pressure insights and Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications (IHRN). If you're prioritizing sleep tracking only, the Whoop 5.0, now $199 (down from $239) at Amazon, is a cheaper alternative.

Amazon is offering a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime this week. As soon as you sign up, you'll get access to this year's Prime Day discounts on thousands of items, from mattresses to air fryers. Prime memberships (from $14.99 a month) also include access to Prime Video, Prime Reading, Prime Music, Amazon photo storage, plus free shipping.
This is one of the best sleep tech discounts we've seen among this year's Amazon Prime Day mattress deals, especially as it guarantees reliable sleep tracking insights. Here's what we (and Amazon customers), think of the Whoop MG, plus the key features that make it a top choice for those living an active lifestyle.
How the Whoop MG brings you clinical-grade sleep tracking
Whoop 5.0 and the medical-grade Whoop MG feature upgraded sensors tracking data 26 times per second. The MG includes ECG readings, while both monitor critical sleep and recovery metrics like HRV and skin temperature. This data yields detailed sleep reports and an overall nightly Sleep Performance score.
Whoop MG's sleep tracking is a little more advanced detail-oriented than other wearable sleep trackers, such as the Apple Watch, and are clearly targeted to athletes who want to use sleep (and sleep tracking) as a tool for physical recovery.
Our lead tester, a keen runner, said that she used the Whoop MG to improve her recovery during marathon training blocks. "I've found Whoop's advanced sleep tracking, and the more health-focused features, really helpful," she says.
As for Amazon customers, most point out the Whoop's sleep tracking as one of its highlights. "The sleep tracking is incredibly detailed, breaking down everything from sleep stages to how well you actually recovered overnight," says one customer.

The Garmin Sleep Index Monitor is our top armband-designed sleep tracker, but it's also one of the more cheaper options on the market. Our Garmin Index Sleep Monitor review praises the sleep tracker for its comfort and accurate sleep metrics, though some Amazon customers have reported issues with Bluetooth connectivity and battery life. In the Prime Day sale, a L/XL size is $139.99.
