Can't afford an OLED TV? Your next best bet are Mini-LED TVs. They produce bright, punchy highlights with deep black levels. They're not quite on par with OLED TVs, but they're a much better pick than your garden-variety LED TV. Now that March Madness TV sales have started, I've seen a sharp increase in Mini-LED TV deals.
And not just any Mini-LED TV, but models we've reviewed and recommend. For example, right now you can get the TCL 65-inch QM5K Mini-LED 4K TV for just $549 at Best Buy. This model is a Best Buy exclusive and we love it because it's the most affordable way to bring Mini-LED backlighting to your home. If you can afford to spend a bit more, the Hisense 65-inch U8 Mini-LED 4K TV for $897 at Amazon is an absurd deal. It's one of the brightest TVs we've tested this year and it's priced very aggressively given its overall performance.
So if an OLED TV is out of your reach, I've picked 7 of the best Mini-LED TVs you can get in time for March Madness. Also, check out our full guide to the best TV deals this week.

Best Mini-LED TV deals
For several months, the TCL QM6K has been one of my go-to recommendations for folks looking for a quality screen on a budget. It's a budget-friendly, 65-inch Mini-LED TV that's perfect for those who want to upgrade to a dependable, good-looking TV without spending too much. In our TCL QM6K review, we said it gives you excellent Mini-LED performance in an affordable package with very few compromises.

This Best Buy-exclusive TV is one of the most affordable ways to secure Mini-LED backlighting. It isn't as bright and packed with features as higher-end Mini-LED TVs from TCL (such as the QM6K), but as far as bargains go, it's tough to beat.

The U65QF is one of the most affordable Mini-LED TVs on the market, and this deal ups its value even further. Enjoy better brightness and overall contrast than what you'll get on a basic, garden-variety LED TV, as well as an array of built-in, Fire TV-powered smart features.

The U8QG is one of the most value-forward Mini-LED TVs of the year, as well as one of the brightest. The U8QG comes with plenty of gaming-friendly features and Google TV built right in. It's just $38 shy of its all-time lowest price, which makes this such a tempting deal. In our Hisense U8QG 4K TV review, we said it competes with high-end models from Samsung and LG, but at a fraction of their price.

The Roku Pro Series is an affordable Mini-LED 4K TV that offers a simple-but-powerful backdrop for all of your streaming needs. Its quantum-dot color and Mini-LED backlighting make this TV a step above most others in its price range. Plus, there are enough gaming features here to satisfy both casual and dedicated gamers. In our Roku Pro Series 4K TV review, we said it offers rich blacks and strong contrast, plus its HDR performance is on another level.

The TCL QM7K is perfect for folks who want to upgrade to a truly impressive TV without breaking the bank. It's also an especially good TV for gamers on a budget, thanks to an impressive array of gaming enhancements that includes two HDMI 2.1 ports and a 144Hz refresh rate. In our TCL QM7K review, we said it's an affordable TV you can count on.

Samsung's Neo QLED lineup expertly blends quantum dot-color with Mini-LED backlighting, and the QN90F might be the best example yet. It's packed with features for gaming, streaming and more. Note: This is the cheapest it's ever been. In our Samsung QN90F review, we said it's an amazing OLED alternative. It's terrific contrast, black levels, and anti-reflective coating also make it a stellar option for bright living rooms.
