I've already binge-watched 'Nobody Wants This' season 2 — and I fell for Netflix's hit romantic comedy series even harder
'Nobody Wants This' season 2 is just as charming as ever

"Nobody Wants This" was one the biggest Netflix surprises of 2024. Erin Foster's rom-com wasn't really on my radar until it premiered and generated a ton of buzz. When I subsequently dove in, I was hooked, and fell for the romantic comedy basically as quickly as Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) did for each other.
Given I now rank them as one of my favorite on-screen couples, I've naturally spent the last 12 months eagerly awaiting the series' return. Like so many fans, I've been desperate to see what "Nobody Wants This" season 2 has in store for this adorable, mismatched couple, and you'll be pleased to know fans will not be disappointed.
I had the chance to stream all 10 episodes of "Nobody Wants This" season 2 in advance of their release on Netflix today (Oct. 23), and I'm thrilled to report that I thought the second season was every bit as entertaining as what we've seen so far. Here are my full thoughts after seeing the sparks fly all over again.
What is 'Nobody Wants This' season 2 about?
After we watched our unlikely couple fall head over heels for one another in 2024, “Nobody Wants This” season 2 reunites us with agnostic podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) and her rabbi beau, Noah (Adam Brody), season 2 throws some fresh challenges their way as they continue to build their relationship together.
Having already caught feelings, now it's all about taking their next steps and navigating merging their lives and loved ones together, facing fresh family and friendship drama, career wobbles, and some inevitable big questions. If season 1 was about them falling in love against the odds, season 2 sees whether Joanne and Noah can stay in love in spite of those odds. It also digs into some of the other characters' relationships more, too.
In addition to Bell and Brody, "Nobody Wants This" season 2 also stars Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, and features guest appearances from Seth Rogen, Leighton Meester and Kate Berlant, among others.
'Nobody Wants This' season 2 is just as sweet and sharp as ever
If you loved "Nobody Wants This" the first time around, I'm confident you're going to love this second season, too. That's because this second chapter is more of the same warm series — and that's no bad thing.

Joanne and Noah's winning chemistry hasn't gone away, the writing is still every bit as witty and sharp, and it still feels distinctly romantic. Going in, I was somewhat skeptical that "Nobody Wants This" would be able to sustain itself beyond that initial honeymoon phase, but season 2 proved me wrong.
If I had to single out one reason in particular, it's because the show finds a little more room for everyone besides our main lovebirds. Yes, the trailer promised fresh challenges lay ahead for the pair, but I really appreciated getting to see more from Morgan, Esther and Sasha, and what they go through alongside (no spoilers here).
The addition of some extra faces, such as Arian Moayed as a love interest for Morgan and a guest appearance from Leighton Meester as an "Instagram Mommy Influencer" (who has history with Joanne and Morgan), only serves to add a bit more texture.
Those extra wrinkles are sources of drama, debates, and emotional moments, and make the series just that bit more involving, and their inclusion (and the series as a whole) has me hoping that there's still more to come.
Simply put, this is another batch of mature, witty and warm-hearted episodes, and I think "Nobody Wants This" season 2 should cement the series as one of the very best shows on Netflix. I could foresee some viewers accusing the new season of being a little too familiar — this is, after all, another series of relationship hiccups and conundrums of that ilk, and it's not as novel a proposition — but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just as charmed by season 2.
If you're in the mood for some cozy, comforting viewing or want to be swept off your feet for a second time, "Nobody Wants This" season 2 is the Netflix show you need to stream this week.

If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it.
