'Lightning Returns' For the Closing 'Final Fantasy XIII' Chapter

By - Source: Tom's Guide US | B 8 comments

For years, fans have been clamoring for more diverse "Final Fantasy" games, and while we'll be waiting a while to see "Final Fantasy XV" for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, there is someone we'll be able to pass the time with early next year – Lightning.

The heroine from "Final Fantasy XIII" will make her return in a new action/role-playing adventure this February called "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII." This final chapter in the sub-arc has her battling a devastating enemy force while keeping the Earth from crumbling under the weight of a "doomsday clock," which consistently counts down. She can use special abilities in combat that can literally turn back time, as every precious second counts.

Even though "Lightning Returns" is being made for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the trailer shows plenty of detail in the environments and enemy design, both of which are true to the "Final Fantasy" standard.

The game will release this February for a suggested retail price of $59.99.

This game was announced last year, and was released in Japan in November. Why are you guys acting like this is the first you are hearing about this? By the way, OCZ declared bankruptcy on Wednesday. Now Saturday morning, and still no mention if it on this site. Way to stay on top of things THG.

This one's for the fans who like to play dress-up with their dolls. Seems to even be marketed that way.

I make 4000$ a month by having an honest job. I get to be away from home and do something with my life, have friends at work. My best friend's mother in law doesn't even exist. And I'm now going to find another tech site to go casually ready, come back once a month for the VGA for the money.

Isn't everyone a little over these "save the world games"?

"battling a devastating enemy force while keeping the Earth from crumbling under the weight of a "doomsday clock," which consistently counts down."

    FFS, give me a break.
