Thanksgiving is next week, and that means many of the best early Black Friday deals are live as retailers try to entice you to buy your holiday gifts for others (or yourself) a little early.
I know because I cover PC gear for a living here at Tom's Guide, so I'm checking the web every day and watching prices drop precipitously in this final run-up to the biggest shopping period of the year.
Here's a great example: this 27" LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitor is $499 at Amazon, which is a killer $400 off the usual $899 asking price. That's nearly half off this gorgeous 1440p OLED panel, which can keep up with even high-speed gaming thanks to its 240Hz refresh rate.
This is a great early Black Friday deal that knocks nearly half off the price of this 27-inch LG 27GS93QE UltraGear OLED gaming monitor. The 1440p (2560 x 1440) 240Hz OLED panel sits on an adjustable stand and comes with DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports so you can plug in your PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X and take full advantage of the monitor's advanced gaming features.
I know it will look good, too, because we regularly review LG's UltraGear displays here and they reliably score high marks for their great picture quality, excellent framerates and subtle, sturdy design. You can see what I mean if you read our recent LG UltraGear OLED 27 review, which will give you a good sense of what you get with the (slightly different) 27" LG UltraGear OLED on sale at Amazon.
With its fairly simple design and narrow footprint (10.2 x 23.8 x 22.6 inches) this display is easy to fit into your existing setup, plus you can tilt and swivel the panel for optimal ergonomics. Around back you have a nice selection of ports, including HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 as well as USB-A and USB-B plus a headphone jack for quiet gaming.
It's great for both AMD and Nvidia setups since this LG UltraGear display supports both AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync, so you can count on buttery-smooth framerates from this 1440p 240Hz display no matter what. And with the HDR and Dolby Vision support you can count on not just games but photos, videos and movies looking lovely on this OLED panel.
I've been reviewing PCs for ages and for my money there are few upgrades more impactful than switching to a nice high-speed OLED display. It's hard to understand until you see it for yourself, but I feel like the striking contrasts, inky blacks and eye-searingly bright whites you get on a good OLED panel make everything you do on-screen look better.
I really doubt this deal will get any better in the next week or two, so if you're looking to score an early Black Friday discount on a killer OLED gaming display I'd pull the trigger while you can!
