Amazon's massive Nintendo Switch sale is live — here's 18 game deals I'd shop this weekend (including Switch 2)
These are the best Switch game deals at Amazon right now

Amazon's next Prime Day event, called Prime Big Deal Days, is on the horizon (it runs October 7-8), but the online mega retailer is offering up some big discounts on popular items, and those savings include Nintendo Switch games. Even better, it's not just Switch 1 titles; Switch 2 games are on sale.
Naturally, the biggest savings can be found on Switch 1 games, including heavy-hitters like Mario Odyssey and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. And you can pick up the epic Final Fantasy X/X2 Remaster pack for just $24.
If you're fortunate enough to own a Switch 2, you can save on excellent third-party titles like Split Fiction (now $46), Yakuza 0: Director's Cut (now $37), and Hogwarts Legacy (now $49). Sadly, we're still waiting for a Mario Kart World deal, but perhaps one will appear during the Big Deal Days event.
I've combed through Amazon's Switch deals ahead of the weekend, and these are the best savings I've spotted on Switch 1 and Switch 2 games.

Lara Croft makes a comeback on the Nintendo Switch. This trio of classic games has been faithfully remastered, letting you re-experience the heart-pounding action and globe-trotting gameplay of the Tomb Raider series on modern platforms.
Sonic Origins Plus is a must-buy collection for long time fans of Sega's blue blur. It packages together the first three Sonic games and Sonic CD with HD visuals, and new opening and ending animations for each title. However, this isn't just a collection for nostalgic fans, it's also a great way for younger gamers to get up to speed with the origins of the fastest hedgehog on Earth.
A terrific return to form for the medium's most famous hedgehog. Sonic Superstars must rank as one of the finest series entries in the iconic franchise over the past 15 years. It wisely takes Sonic and chums back to their 16-bit platforming roots, delivering old-school speedster thrills that any gamer who ever owned a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive will love.
In the Final Fantasy X/X2 Remaster collection, you get not one, but two classic JRPGs. Final Fantasy X tells the story of Tidus, a man on a quest to protect a summoner named Yuna; FFX-2 continues Yuna's side of the story. With strategic turn-based combat and genuinely moving stories, these games have stood the test of time.
You can relive the Tokyo 2020 — or 2021 — Olympic Games with this Switch title. Team up with Mario, Sonic and crew in action-packed sporting events. Featuring a short but enjoyable story mode and a host of mini-games, this game is perfect for a party between friends and family.
Sonic X Shadow Generations combines a remaster of 2011's Sonic Generations, a love letter to the Blue Blur that remains a fan-favorite to this day, with a new Shadow-focused campaign. It's a strong package and perfectly timed with the theatrical release of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie.
A full remake of the original Super Mario RPG released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), this role-playing game sees Mario, Bowser, Peach and some new friends embark on an adventure to repair a wish-granting star. With updated graphics, gameplay and new cinematics, Super Mario RPG has never looked (or played) this well, but the original game's charms have been carefully retained as well.
Mario's latest side-scrolling adventure is a wonderfully refreshing spin on the classic formula. Venturing to the Flower Kingdom, you'll discover stage-altering Wonder Flowers which can warp levels, create new platforming challenges and even turn Mario into an elephant. Playable in up to four-player co-op, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a platforming marvel for the entire family and one of the very best Nintendo Switch games you can play now.

If you've ever wanted to construct your own Mario courses rather than just play them, Super Mario Maker 2 is the game for you. Play, create and share your courses with the world and dive into a full single-player story as well. With thousands of user-created courses already available, Super Mario Maker 2 offers a nearly endless supply of new content.
Ultimate by name, ultimate by nature. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings together every single fighter in the franchise's history for a showdown of epic proportions. This hugely popular party game is now on sale.
Fans have been waiting a long time for Samus Aran to return to the space-exploration scene in a new Metroid title, and this game was totally worth the wait. You'll be hunting down aliens and fighting for your life against deadly robotic assassins. Whether you're new to the series or an old pro, we highly recommend Metroid Dread.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on the Nintendo Switch is a lovingly crafted remaster of the 1993 classic. Take control of Link as he explores the mysterious Koholint Island, where he’ll traverse eight puzzling dungeons as well as an expansive overworld.
Released in 2017, Super Mario Odyssey remains one of the best Nintendo Switch games ever made. Easy to jump into but plenty of more complex platforming moves to learn, there are hours of fun to be had exploring a host of new Kingdoms and finding all of their hidden Power Moons. Plus, who wouldn't want to play as a T-Rex with an iconic Mario moustache?

Yakuza 0 has been enhanced via the Director's Cut. Set in 1980s Japan, you play Kazuma Kiryu in a sprawling crime drama that is plenty gripping but also mixed with the franchise's trademark quirky humor. The Director's Cut included new cutscenes that add to the story, and the gameplay is a mix of action-packed melee brawls and addictive mini-games.
Split Fiction is a co-op adventure where two writers, Mio and Zoe, get trapped in a chaotic mix of their own stories. One minute you're dodging cyber ninjas, the next, you're riding dragons. It’s all about teamwork, solving puzzles, and navigating wild genre mashups to escape their own imaginations. Even better, thanks to the Friend Pass, you only need to buy a single copy to play the entire game online with a pal.
Step into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hogwarts Legacy. This open-world RPG lets you attend the iconic school of witchcraft and wizardry, where you'll learn spells, brew potions, and tame magical beasts. You'll also have to battle dark wizards, scheming goblins and monstrous spiders, before deciding the fate of the entire wizarding world. The Switch 2 edition makes major improvements over the Switch 1 port, including the removal of several loading screens in the open world.
Madden NFL 26, the latest title in the long-running professional football franchise from EA Sports, offers a number of upgrades that justify picking it up. Including improved graphics on Switch 2, new mechanics, and a great Superstar mode. Plus, this version of the popular football simulation lets you play on the go, so you can win the Super Bowl at home or while traveling.
The latest entry in the annual NBA 2K series has entered the court, and it's once again the most polished and authentic way to play basketball from the comfort of your couch. NBA 2K26 includes the series' standard suite of online and offline modes, including MyTEAM and MyGM. The Switch 2 version isn't as graphically impressive as on other consoles, but it does offer portable play. Which is a pretty big advantage.
