The Brooks Glycerin Max is one of the most comfortable running shoes I’ve tested, and it’s reduced by 25% right now

Brooks is a brand well-known for making some of the most comfortable running shoes available, so it’s really saying something that the Glycerin Max line is the most cushioned option in its line-up.

Thanks to the towering stack of foam in its midsole, the Glycerin Max is a supremely comfortable option for racking up your runs, and I’ve enjoyed using both models of the shoe to date.

They don’t come cheap though, so the $50 saving you can make on the original Brooks Glycerin Max, which is down to $149 at Amazon, is certainly welcome, especially as I actually prefer it to the newer Brooks Glycerin Max 2.

The Glycerin Max is a max-stack cushioned running shoe that’s built for one job — to make your runs as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The rockered ride rolls you along smoothly, and the mega-stack of foam in the midsole protects the legs throughout runs of any distance. Both the men’s and women’s Glycerin Max are currently reduced by $50 at Amazon with several colors and most sizes available.

I thoroughly tested the comfort of the Brooks Glycerin Max with a 20-mile run out of the box, and it didn’t disappoint. The dual-density midsole it has delivers a soft landing at the heel, then a more responsive feel as you roll off your toes.

While it’s a bit large and heavy for speed sessions, the Glycerin Max is perfect for racking up daily training runs at easy or steady paces, and it’s a great option for those in marathon training who need a durable, protective shoe to handle the extra miles.

The Brooks Glycerin Max 2 came out in late 2025 but its a minimal update on the Glycerin Max, and actually a little heavier that its predecessor. They’re similar shoes, but I slightly prefer the original Glycerin Max, so the fact it’s now also in sales and cheaper than the Glycerin Max 2 is a bonus.
