Among the big tech companies, Apple usually keeps the tightest control over leaks, but the grip seems to be loosened as of late. Just this week, a massive leak of more than 30 future Apple devices spilled out thanks to a prototype build of iOS 26 that accidentally landed in someone’s hands.
That initial rumor revealed five new iPhones that we expect to launch in 2026 or 2027. Now, The Information is reporting on a two-year roadmap for the iPhone lineup through 2027 that includes another three handsets.
Between the code leak and The Information’s reporting, here are the iPhones, and their leaked Apple codenames, we could see in the next two years in order of release:

You may have noticed a strange split between what could debut next year versus in 2027.
It’s long been rumored that Apple is planning on splitting up its iPhone releases with the higher-end models launching during the normal September window. Under this shift, the less expensive models would launch in the spring window, where the iPhone 16e debuted this year.
Below, we’ve compiled a bit of what we know about each new iPhone based on previous leaks and rumors and our own reporting. Some devices like the iPhone 18 and 18e haven’t been the subject of many, if any, leaks. Others like the iPhone Fold have been part of the rumor mill for so long, we have a pretty solid idea of what to expect.
iPhone 17e
Apple replaced its budget-friendly iPhone SE line with the new e-series when it launched the iPhone 16e earlier this year. Built on the iPhone 14 chassis, this low-cost iPhone model launched with support for the same Apple Intelligence features as the rest of the iPhone 16 lineup. So far, rumors suggest the iPhone 17 will be an incremental upgrade over its predecessor, with potential improvements including a glass back and magnetic wireless charging. We’d also expect a chipset upgrade to the iPhone 17’s A19 silicon.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
The iPhone 17 Pro models gave Apple’s handsets their biggest redesign in years with the expanded camera plateau on the rear. The follow-up models likely won’t see another redesign, though leaker Digital Chat Station has claimed that the next Pro models will get a “transparent finish” to the glass panel, a more subtle refinement.
Inside is where we might see bigger upgrades including Apple potentially moving the FaceID sensor under the display and removing the Dynamic Island feature. The selfie camera would move to the upper left of the display.
Apple has used 3nm chips since the A17 which debuted on the iPhone 15 Pro, but the company may partner with TSMC to make the leap to 2nm chips with the iPhone 18’s A20 chipset. This upgrade should boost performance while reducing power consumption
Finally, The Pro models are rumored to come with a variable rate aperture, allowing users to adjust the light entering the lenses for more flexibility while taking pictures.
iPhone Fold
At long last, Apple’s first foldable device could launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models next fall. And there’s good news and bad news about this would-be release.
Recently, several alleged specs for the Fold were leaked by Digital Chat Station. If those specs are accurate, the iPhone Fold would feature an interior display measuring 7.58 inches with an outer display measuring 5.25 inches. The Fold would also offer a 48MP dual-camera array and a 24MP camera under the main display. The leaker added that the phone will feature a “very” strong hinge design for the phone.
Unfortunately, the iPhone Fold is rumored to cost an obscene $2,399, $500 more than the launch price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, it could be the first foldable phone to have a truly creaseless display.
iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e
We don’t know much about the iPhone 18 or the iPhone 18e other than the potential spring 2027 release date. The iPhone 18 might get a narrow dynamic island, but it’s not expected to put FaceID under the display like the Pro models.
Apple did put its new C1X modem in the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air, and we should see the updated C2 modem chip in more iPhones, but it hasn’t been made clear which ones yet. Additionally, it’s unknown if the less expensive iPhones will get the new 2nm chip or stick with a 3nm version of the A20.
iPhone Air 2
The iPhone Air 2 has either been delayed indefinitely or is on track to launch in the spring of 2027. According to The Information, Apple suddenly canceled trial production in November, allegedly due to poor sales. Apple is reportedly redesigning the Air 2, possibly by adding a second camera or lowering the price of the ultra-thin phone.
iPhone 20
Like the 10th anniversary iPhone X released in 2017, Apple is expected to skip the iPhone 19 moniker and rebrand its 20th anniversary handset as the iPhone 20 in 2027.
Multiple rumors throughout 2025 have suggested the iPhone 20 will feature an edge-to-edge curved display that wraps around all four edges of the phone. Instead of a full titanium frame, the iPhone 20 will feature a narrow band of metal around the middle of the phone.
A new patent found in October suggests the iPhone 20 will be button-free with the power button, volume rocker and action buttons upgraded to solid-state buttons as part of the frame. Plus, it could have an under-display camera.
By 2027, Apple could have seven different handsets actively on sale at the same time, a massive expansion of the iPhone lineup.
One thing we don’t know is pricing, which is hardly surprising given how far we are from seeing any new iPhones. As RAMageddon explodes RAM prices across the tech world, even Apple is rumored to feel the bite of expensive memory. How that will affect iPhone prices is unknown, but we can already see other manufacturers degrading phone specs, raising prices or both.
Up to this point, Apple has kept costs relatively the same, but the next two years could get pricier.
