Neither Newcastle United nor Manchester City have tasted defeat yet this season, and even more impressively they're the only two Premier League sides who have yet to even concede a goal. In their opening two games, Newcastle managed a win and a draw, while City have enjoyed the perfect start to the season, winning both their games convincingly.

Newcastle’s comfortable opening weekend win over Nottingham Forest was followed by a goalless draw away to Brighton. In truth, the Magpies looked rather pedestrian for much of the latter game, but it’s a testament to how far the side have come under Eddie Howe than even when not playing their best, they are capable of earning a valuable point. However, Newcastle could really do with boosting their attacking options before the transfer window shuts, as the likes of Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin have looked toothless so far.

Manchester City continue to be a dominant force in English football, and new talisman Erling Haaland is certainly settling in well. He may have only touched the ball eight times in the side’s most recent game against Bournemouth, but he was still able to provide an assist in a 4-0 thrashing. Of course, strikers are judged on goals, so he’ll hope to get back on the scoresheet against Newcastle.

This fixture has been very kind to City in recent years. In fact, Newcastle have only managed to beat Man City a single time since 2006, and last season Pep’s men scored nine goals without reply across the two times the sides met. The smart money would suggest that Man City will cruise to victory here, but could Newcastle earn an unexpected result? Find out by watching a Newcastle vs Man City live stream.
