I want to claim that I'm the 'outdoorsy' type, but my husband would certainly argue otherwise. Don't get me wrong, I love the sunny weather. I just don't like the bugs and I'm constantly finding ways to keep wasps off my porch and planting this one fragrant herb that deters mosquitoes.
Perhaps I just needed a stylish outdoors collection from IKEA to inspire me to embrace nature, so the new SOLUPPGÅNG range looks set to do just the trick.
With a combination of tableware, food prep tools, foldable furniture and even a compact grill, IKEA has managed to create a collection that inspires open-air living, while also being incredibly affordable. And here's what I've already popped in my cart.

Fortunately, as is in-keeping with IKEA's whole ethos, it's super affordable with just over 20 items ranging from $4 to $80
In recent months, I've been tempted in by IKEA's gardening collection and the tool I found in the IKEA kid's collection that transformed my productivity. But, I'm a little surprised at how excited IKEA's new outdoor collection has made me feel.
As IKEA puts it, the SOLUPPGÅNG range is: "Drawing inspiration from Nordic friluftsliv, the philosophy of open-air living, and Japanese komorebi, the poetic fleeting beauty of sunlight filtering through leaves." Sure, it sounds like a lot of great words, but when it's actually translated into the collection it also looks great, too.
And fortunately, as is in-keeping with IKEA's whole ethos, it's super affordable with just over 20 items ranging from $4 to $80. And for $80, you get a whole compact cast-iron charcoal grill that I've certainly got my eye on. Other items include enamel kitchenware, cutlery, a LED lantern, foldable stool and table, and even a bamboo cooler basket.
But, designer Ola Wihlborg is also focused on durability: "We prioritized quality above all else. It's better to have something that lasts longer and becomes more personal along the way."

Adding: "Durable materials like cast-iron and enamelled steel make the products long-lasting, while natural details give them a warm, tactile feel."
Who said outdoor living couldn't be incredibly chic? Consider me sold on the new collection and with a few things already added to my basket, I'll happily say I've got all the gear and no idea.

I love a good enamelled steel mug for drinking hot and cold drinks outdoors. Perfect for your cup of cocoa, it's a great way to relax on your trip. And fortunately, it's also very durable and easy to clean.
This salad serving set made from natural material bamboo is perfect for the great outdoors, especially when you're serving up a big meal for all your happy campers. Plus, there's a cutting board to match that'll only cost you $7.99.
While IKEA certainly sells a few LED lantern options, this is one of the most stylish I've seen. It's easy to operate outdoors or hang up on a nearby branch, and you can even dim it when you want to set a calmer mood.
I didn't know I wanted a cooling basket made out of bamboo until I saw this. The bamboo shell encloses a cooling bag for you to place all your cold drinks and fresh food for a day out. And the practical compartments means you can split up your essentials so they're easy to grab.
I'm most curious to see how IKEA's new charcoal grill performs when outdoors, either down at the park, on the beach, on a trip, or just in the outdoor space at home. It's super compact and easy to move around with practical handles made from durable cast-iron.
