Coffee culture is booming, and nowhere is this more evident than in our own homes, where we are now fully-fledged baristas making our own exceptional brews.

Ninja is a brand we love that's ever-popular with consumers for its high-performance appliances, and it doesn’t fall short when it comes to the coffee market.

In Ninja’s first-ever celebrity collaboration, it has partnered with soccer superstar David Beckham to launch a limited-edition version of the Luxe Café Pro. When we reviewed this espresso machine last year, we gave it a 4.5-star rating, stating: “The Ninja Luxe Café Pro offers the perfect balance between ease of use and manual features to create a uniquely accessible machine that almost everyone will love.”

Ninja's latest Luxe Café Pro espresso machine has been designed by David Beckham and features a refined aesthetic with bead-blasted matte-black stainless steel, ebony wood and gold accents. The 3-in-1 machine makes espresso, filter coffee and cold brew from whole beans to brew. It includes an integrated tamper and grinder and auto-calibration settings to deliver the perfect brew.

Aside from previously recommending the Ninja Luxe Café Pro, this limited-edition version offers a new take on the original design.

The Beckham design features a bead-blasted matte-black stainless-steel body with a black chestnut wood grain and gold accents, and Ninja says these materials are new to the Luxe Café line. The decision is apparently inspired by natural textures of the English countryside, a link back to Beckham’s roots.

What can you expect to pay for this limited edition? It’s a hefty $899 from SharkNinja, which is $150 more than the standard Ninja Luxe Café Pro that SharkNinja sells for $749. You could argue you're getting a bit more bling for your money, but the underlying appliance remains the same. So it's a question of how much you value having a little bit of Beckham on your countertop?

Adding color to our kitchens

The Beckham collab is one of seven new limited-edition colorways rolling out this spring across the Ninja Luxe Café Premier and Ninja Luxe Café Pro series, with the Ninja’s Premier limited-edition series priced at a slightly more modest $599. The Premier range is available in Oat Milk, Ash Green, and Raspberry Blush, while the Pro lineup adds CyberSpace & Gold, Oat Milk, and the Beckham collab — with Stone & Gold and Onyx to launch in May.

Ninja is certainly adding more color to our kitchens, especially with Raspberry Blush, which makes me think of the delightful colors that KitchenAid offers with its stand mixers, not forgetting that Ninja already offers similar color options with the Ninja Creami and Ninja Crispi.

Is this a sign that we’ll see more colors added across Ninja’s ranges in the future?

“We have always believed that the objects you interact with every day should bring you joy, and color is one of the most powerful ways to do that,” said Howard Nuk, Chief Advanced Concept Engineering Officer at SharkNinja.

“Introducing bold colors like CyberSpace & Gold and a cheerful Raspberry Blush is our way of saying that performance and personal expression are not mutually exclusive.”
