In good news for India fans, and fans of fast bowling, Jasprit Bumrah will be available for both the matches in this two-match series. He had been nursed through the England series, playing only three of the five tests, but chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar has said: "We have had a fair break, and Bumrah is ready and keen to play both matches.”

But Rishabh Pant is out injured, so Ravindra Jadeja takes on the vice-captaincy.

West Indies, who are captained by Roston Chase are expecting spin friendly conditions. They given a first call up to 33-year-old left arm spinner Khary Pierre, the leading wicket taker this seasons in their domestic competition.

They have also recalled batsmen Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze. The latter added for “his strengths and qualities against spin bowling,” explained coach Daren Sammy.

For both teams this will be their second series in the 2025-2027 World Test Championship.
