With May just around the corner and summer not far behind, it’s time for a fresh wave of streaming releases. Paramount+ is kicking things up again this month, and we’ve rounded up everything new hitting the platform.
The biggest release in May includes the new “Yellowstone” spinoff, “Dutton Ranch.” The series is created by Chad Feehan, with Taylor Sheridan as executive producer, and will be structured as a 9-episode first season. There’s also fresh seasons of a psychology-driven documentary series centered around couples and a long-standing crime drama with new cases to crack.

‘Dutton Ranch’
Arguably the month’s headline release, “Dutton Ranch” is the newest “Yellowstone” spinoff. It continues the story of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler after the events of the original series. The show expands the existing franchise, bringing back familiar characters while introducing new ones tied to the ranching world around them. Those wanting more “Yellowstone” should definitely add this spinoff to their watchlist.
“Dutton Ranch” follows Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they leave Montana and begin a new life in South Texas. Alongside their ward, Carter (Finn Little), they settle into running a large ranch while adapting to unfamiliar surroundings and rebuilding their future together. The pair quickly encounters pressure from a powerful neighbouring ranch owner, drawing them into escalating disputes over land and its resources.

‘Couples Therapy’ (season 5)
Next up, we have the new season of a prestige docuseries that follows real couples in therapy sessions with a highly regarded psychoanalyst, filmed in an observational, documentary style. It has had strong enough performance to be renewed multiple times, including season 5 after a reported 30% boost in viewership. This series is essentially perfect for those interested in real psychology.
“Couples Therapy” season 5 focuses on Dr. Orna Guralnik as she continues working with a new set of couples over an extended therapy process. Each pair arrives at her New York practice at a critical point in their relationship, participating in structured sessions that unfold over several weeks. Returning and new couples are introduced across multiple episodes, with each storyline developing through ongoing dialogue with Dr. Guralnik.

‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ (season 19)
If you didn’t already know, “Criminal Minds: Evolution” has been running since 2022 as the revival continuation of the original “Criminal Minds” series, which first began back in 2005. The current Paramount+ era has added new seasons each year since its return, extending the franchise’s long-standing run. It still remains one of the longest-running procedural franchises still actively producing new episodes.
“Criminal Minds: Evolution” season 19 continues the long-running CBS-turned-Paramount+ crime franchise, following the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) as they respond to new federal cases. The team, led by Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), includes returning agents such as David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), JJ Jareau (A.J. Cook), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), and Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), working alongside reformed profiler Elias Voit in an evolving role within the investigation framework.
