Netflix top 10 shows — here’s the 3 to binge-watch this week (Jan. 6-12)
The three Netflix shows to add to your watchlist this week
Struggling to choose your next Netflix show? Like all the best streaming services, the big red N is constantly serving up new shows and movies to watch, and that means there's always something new to stream — but only a scant few manage to climb into the streamer's charts.
Alas, if you regularly rely on what's in the Netflix top 10 shows list to help you steer you towards your next watch, you'll know that, sometimes, the most-watched shows won't always measure up... and that's where I come in. I keep a very close eye on what's in the Netflix charts, and regularly whittle that list down to just three trending watches that I think are worth shouting about.
That means you've always got a quick list of Netflix recommendations ready to go whenever you need some inspiration. You can find my top picks (and a full breakdown of the Netflix top 10 shows list) below.
This list is based on the Netflix U.S. top 10 as of Tuesday, January 6, 2025.
Best shows in the Netflix top 10
'Emily in Paris'
Netflix's romantic comedy getaway returned for its fifth season last month, and Emily Cooper's (Lily Collins) long-time followers have kept the series as a mainstay in the Netflix charts ever since.
"Emily in Paris" season 5 finds everyone's favorite marketing executive as the head of Agence Grateau Rome — but new professional (and personal) challenges are right around the corner. See, while she's adjusting to life in the Italian capital and everything seems to be falling into place, a work idea backfires and the fallout leads to career setbacks and heartbreak, and pushes Emily to lean back into her French lifestyle.
Already raced through the latest series? We've got good news: Netflix just announced that "Emily in Paris" would return for a sixth chapter (via Deadline).

'Run Away'
Netflix has kept to tradition and kicked off 2026 with "Run Away," another binge-worthy Harlan Coben mystery series, and this latest eight-episode series just dethroned "Stranger Things" as the streamer's No. 1 watch.
"Run Away" revolves around Simon (James Nesbitt), a man with a seemingly perfect life, with a loving family, a great job, and a beautiful home. That life is turned upside down one day when his eldest daughter runs away from home, but Simon later finds Paige vulnerable and on drugs in a city park, giving him the chance to take her back home... but Paige isn't alone.
An argument then escalates into shocking violence, and Simon loses her all over again. His search to find her sees him venturing into a dangerous underworld and tracking an elusive killer, and on the precipice of revealing dark secrets that could well tear the family apart forever...

'Stranger Things'
Yes, I know it's been several days since the Duffer Brothers' beloved Netflix series came to an end, but "Stranger Things" remains one of the most-watched series on the platform. And even though the final season proved to be a more divisive chapter than we maybe expected, it's hard not to highlight one of Netflix's most well-known shows when it's in the streamer's charts.
This fifth and final season is set in 1987, and sees the Hawkins gang working to realize one thing and one thing only: finding and stopping their ultimate foe, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), before he can realize his own evil scheme and establish a "new world." It's a season operating on bigger-than-ever scales, and it takes the whole party (plus the help of some new allies) to put a stop to his plans before it's too late.
If you've already streamed the finale, you might well be wondering what's next for "Stranger Things," or want to check out our round-up of shows like "Stranger Things" if you're on the hunt for your next binge-watch.

If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
