Netflix has revealed everything coming to the streaming service in January 2026, and the big name that will be on everyone's mind is "Bridgerton." The hit Shondaland romance series is back for season 4 at the end of this month. This time, the story revolves around Benedict (Luke Thompson), the second son of the Viscount and Viscountess Bridgerton. But the question on everyone's lips will be, "Can they get People's Sexiest Man Alive Jonathan Bailey to show up for a scene?"

That's not my most anticipated new title on Netflix this month, though. No, that honor goes to "The Rip." This action thriller stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as a pair of Miami cops who find millions during a drug bust. Unfortunately for them, they also find that more money does indeed create more problems, and their particular problems carry automatic weapons.

Aside from these top picks, I've got the full slate of everything new on Netflix this month listed below. Plus, we have a roundup of what’s leaving Netflix in January 2026, so you have one last chance to watch. For more, check out our recap of the best Netflix movies from 2025.

New on Netflix in January 2026: Top picks

'Bridgerton' season 4 part 1

Watch On

One of Netflix's biggest hits returns for another season this month. For those unfamiliar with "Bridgerton," this alternate history romance drama is set in the Regency era of British history, specifically a version of the Regency era in which George III opted for legitimizing racial equality and then granted titles to several people of color due to the African heritage of his wife, Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel).

But it's not the royalty that are the stars of this show. Instead, it's the eight siblings of the aristocratic Bridgerton family: Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Benedict (Luke Thompson), Colin (Luke Newton), Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Eloise (Claudia Jessie), Francesca (Hannah Dodd), Gregory (Will Tilston), and Hyacinth (Florence Hunt). Each season focuses on the love story of a specific sibling; in this season, it's Benedict who must navigate the complexities of British high society as he tries to woo a mysterious Lady in Silver, whose real name (unbeknownst to him) is Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).

'The Rip'

Watch On

"The Rip" stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as a pair of Miami detectives, Lt. Dane Dumars and Det. Sgt. JD Byrne, respectively. These two are leaders of a narcotics squad, and their lives change forever when a stash house that was supposed to contain $300,000 in drug money instead contains millions. In fact, by the time their team, which includes Steven Yeun and Teyana Taylor, is done searching the house, they find $20 million in cold hard cash.

Unfortunately for them, it quickly becomes clear that this newfound wealth is going to be a problem for everyone involved. Once people who want the money arrive — with guns — the trailer for what appears to be a tense crime thriller turns into an explosive action thriller. We get flames, hailstorms of bullets and at least one car chase. I was already sold on this movie when I saw Affleck and Damon were starring, but I'm genuinely hyped to see if "The Rip" becomes the next great Netflix action movie.

'Agatha Christie's Seven Dials'

Watch On

"Agatha Christie's Seven Dials" is a new murder mystery show, adapting the Queen of Crime for Netflix. It stars Mia McKenna-Bruce as Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, a young woman determined to be a great detective. At a house party in the 1925 English countryside, she's tasked with solving how a practical joke could go so horribly wrong that it leaves one of the partygoers dead.

With all due respect to Ms. McKenna-Bruce, though, it's the two actors below her on the call sheet that have me so intrigued. "Seven Dials" also stars Helena Bonham Carter as Lady Caterham, who seems to be warning Lady Brent about the dangers of her investigation in the teaser trailer above. It also stars Martin Freeman as Battle, who figures to play a prominent role in how this mystery will unfold. Throw in that this three-part series is coming from "Broadchurch" creator Chris Chibnall, and you can consider my curiosity officially piqued.

'His and Hers'

Another murder mystery to keep an eye on this month: "His and Hers." This new series stars Tessa Thompson as Anna, a recluse living in Atlanta, Georgia. She's eschewed her friends, her career as a TV news anchor and even her husband. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega, her hometown in rural north Georgia, she ditches her reclusive life to dive into the case and search for answers.

It's not just the case that Anna finds in Dahlonega. Overseeing the investigation is Detective Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal), her estranged husband. He's as shocked as anyone to see Anna suddenly involved in this murder mystery, and is not above treating her as a person of interest. Did one of them have something to do with this gruesome crime? Or are they about to uncover something bigger than their marital squabbles? You'll have to watch to find out.

'People We Meet on Vacation'

This romantic comedy just feels tailor-made for Netflix. "People We Meet on Vacation" is adapted from the hit 2021 novel of the same name by Emily Henry. It stars Emily Bader as the free-spirited Poppy, and Tom Blyth as the more buttoned-up Alex. Despite the unlikely pairing, these two have been best friends forever. Even living in different cities, they manage to spend time together on a trip every summer, no matter what.

Of course, you could already see where this is going, even if you haven't already watched the trailer set to Robyn's "Hang with Me," which just oozes Netflix rom-com vibes. Poppy ultimately catches feelings for Alex, despite protesting to everyone around her to the contrary. Will she manage to keep her best friend? Or is this new wrinkle too much for their relationship? You won't have to wait much longer to find out.
