4. A Varied Set Of Functions

Another bridge-related advantage of the DMC-FZ18 is that it can be set to full manual. It offers a variety of shooting modes, as well as manual, which lets you make all your own adjustments (shutter speed, aperture, ISO sensitivity, etc.). It also has an effective video mode that offers a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 at 30 frames per second.

As extra features, you’ll find a few possibilities for photo retouching, such as re-framing and a function that lets you title your photos directly in the camera. Panasonic has even taken that concept a little farther - for example, there’s a "Pets" section where you can enter the name and age of your best friend. Granted, it might be a little too cute. But somebody had to think of it...

More Than Adequate Connectivity

No wireless technology has been built into this model. Still it has all the connectivity needed for effective use. There’s a TV output and the usual USB connection. The camera is also PictBridge compatible and can use SD/SDHC/MMC memory cards.
