The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra just solved my gripes with robot vacuums — 3 things I liked and 1 that I didn't
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra robot vacuum packs in a powerful punch

If, like me, you have a combo of carpets, hardwood and tiled flooring, keeping your home spotless can feel like a never-ending task. Which is why having one of the best best robot mops or hybrid robot vacuums are becoming more appealing. You simply ‘set and forget’ it at just a touch of a button, and let your smart appliance do all the hard work — so you don’t have to. But, while I’ve tested my fair share of the best vacuum cleaners, there’s always been one gripe I’ve had with robot vacuum cleaners.
That was until I let the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra robot vacuum and mop loose in my home. The J15 Pro Ultra ticks all the boxes when it comes to handling your floor cleaning needs. It comes with a whopping 16200 Pa suction power, hot water mopping and drying, built-in LiDAR and an RGB camera for perfect navigation, a self-cleaning dock and a handy app.
But, I was keen to see how well the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra can handle my biggest issues with robot vacuums yet. Here are the three things I liked and didn’t like.
Eureka J15 Pro Ultra: 3 things I liked
Firstly, the three things I liked with the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra robot vacuum.
No more hair tangles
If there's one cleaning woe that I tackle on a daily basis, it's hair pick-up. And no, I don’t own any pets, but I do have long hair that seems to malt all over my floors, much to the annoyance of my family. As a result, I've often had the time-consuming chore of cleaning/removing strands of hair from the the vacuum's brushroll.
One key thing I like about the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra is that it comes with an advanced 'FlexiRazer' anti-tangle brush, designed to actively cut hair. I have to say, the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra packed in a powerful punch, and the anti-tangle brushes worked well on hardwood and quickly lifted and removed deeply-ingrained hair on my carpets.
This is thanks to its new technology that operates at 400 cuts per minute, reducing the risk of hair wrapping by 99%. Finally, I didn't have to battle with excessive strands getting caught up in the brush bars, as they get sucked up straight into the dustbin.

Excellent edge-to-edge cleaning
Perhaps my biggest gripe with robot vacuums is they can't always tackle dirt or dust along edges or corners of rooms very well. Usually, I noticed dust would either be scattered away, or missed altogether, leaving me with more work to do.
However, I was impressed by the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra's edge-to-edge cleaning results. Not only does the robot vac have a curved/squared design to handle corners with ease, but its 'Flex-arm' extends outwards to reach all tight spots and corners.
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra is a hybrid robot vacuum and mop that literally covers all bases. It has impressive suction power, particularly for pet hair pick-up across hard floors and carpet. It also comes with advanced features including Dirt Detection, Flexi Razor anti-tangle brush, AI capabilities, a great app and more.
While I would often still see tiny particles of dust or dirt along edges, the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra left the edges of my TV wall unit, and corners spotless.
Great obstacle avoidance
Of course, the real test for a good robot vacuum is how well it copes with obstacles in its way. This is especially the case when you have a messy teen who has a tendency of leaving his things on the floor.
And while the majority of robovacs are equipped with advanced, AI capabilities to navigate better and detect obstacles, I've still encountered issues in the past where its bumped into things.
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra never had any problems with obstacle avoidance, going around chair legs, footstools and even a rogue dumbbell on the floor. 1 thing I didn't like
And now for the one thing I didn't like with the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra robot vacuum.
It's way too heavy
Although I like the sleek, gloss white and modern aesthetic of the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra, the only thing that lets it down is its weight. I found it quite heavy to move around my home, and carry upstairs.
Weighing in at 32.8 pounds, the robot vacuum isn't exactly lightweight, and I can imagine this would become tiresome for households with a lot of stairs or multiple floors. Similarly, the self-cleaning dock is large and bulky, so you might want to consider that you have a sufficient storage place, as this takes up a lot of floor space.
In any case, if you're simply after excellent cleaning performance, convenient features, and a great app, this can easily be overlooked.
