Sourdough is a big trend right now – and that feels weird to say about bread, but it is. As Vogue puts it, 'Sourdough is the hottest accessory of 2026' and if Taylor Swift being onboard with sourdough making isn't enough to pique your interest, then interior guru, Joanna Gaines has something that could seriously impress.

Joanna's latest Magnolia collection is dedicated to sourdough, making it the perfect buy for any baking lover who has either got a starter on the go, or is toying with the idea of starting from scratch.

I've not bravely embarked on my own sourdough journey yet, but I've been very tempted. A beautiful collection of new kitchenware from Magnolia might be just the incentive I need – and I'll delve into some of my favorite items below.

Joanna Gaines, the 'Fixer Upper' turned Magnolia founder, is well-versed in interior design. So, it shouldn't be all that surprising that her 2026 Spring collection is focused on one of home's trendiest bakes right now, sourdough.

The Sourdough Collection is built around creating your own at-home sourdough baking set with a unique rustic, farmhouse look that screams: "Yes, I bake my own sourdough and I look damn good doing it, too!"

In the range, there's a variety of sourdough-making tools from a five-pack of linen covers on sale for $32, for protecting your starter and during proofing, to a handmade walnut spurtle for $26, perfect for folding and shaping your dough.

And while making sourdough is all in the process, the style of the pieces from Joanna's collection proves she's also thought about how your new at-home sourdough toolkit will look in your home – and I'm a huge fan.

Magnolia Weck 742 1/2 L Mold Jar
Magnolia Weck 742 1/2 L Mold Jar: $7.50 at Magnolia

Widely recommended for sourdough starters, a Weck jar is made from durable glass, as well as having a removable rust-free lid with sealing gaskets. If you're putting together your at-home kit, this is the perfect place to start. Depending on preference, there's also a 1/2 L Tulip jar on sale for $7.50.

Magnolia Set of Five Bread and Jar Covers
Magnolia Set of Five Bread and Jar Covers: $32 at Magnolia

If you're using plastic jars or you're looking for something more breathable for sealing your glass jars, swapping in linen covers is a great way to reduce single-use waste and let your sourdough get the air it needs. They'll keep control over any moisture build-up and they're naturally antibacterial, which is great news for keeping your starters and bread super fresh.

Magnolia Handmade Walnut and Copper Bread Lame
Magnolia Handmade Walnut and Copper Bread Lame: $34 at Magnolia

A bread lame is an incredibly handy tool for scoring the surface of your dough before it goes into bake, alleviating pressure and releasing steam. And if you want to be incredibly stylish doing it, this handmade walnut and copper design will add something special to your kitchen.

Magnolia Set of Three Luna Scalloped Mixing Bowls
Magnolia Set of Three Luna Scalloped Mixing Bowls: $104 at Magnolia

You're going to need some bowls for giving your sourdough the space it needs when proofing and this set of three have really caught my eye. Paired with the linen lids, it's the perfect space to be thoughtful with your sourdough and bake with style.

Magnolia Handmade Walnut Spurtle
Magnolia Handmade Walnut Spurtle: $26 at Magnolia

While it's called a sourdough spurtle, the spurtle actually originated from Scotland as a kitchen tool for stirring porridge, stews, and soups. For sourdough, it's perfect for stirring those starters in tall jars, folding and shaping the dough with ease. Like the rest of The Sourdough Collection, it's also very stylish.
