The new year is here. January 2026 has arrived, and the holidays are behind us. That means plenty of new things to watch. Tubi is kicking off the new year with a mix of drama, comedy and some genres that'll make staying in feel like the right call.
Leading the way is "Broken Bonds", a crime drama that puts three waitresses to the test as they're left with a huge bag of money after a deadly shootout. Then, "How to Lose a Popularity Contest" is a teen comedy for anyone who's ever been into "The Summer I Turned Pretty." Finally, "Terri Joe: Missionary of Miami" brings the popular TikToker of the same name to her own feature-length movie as she brings her quirky and irreverent comedy to Tubi.
'Broken Bonds'
Three struggling waitresses end up witnessing a shootout that leaves the perps dead. They're left with an entire bag of cash they need to figure out how to hide, and fast. With no real idea how to face this growing problem, the trio ends up plunged into a terrifying and confusing underworld that forces them to stick together if they want to find their way out.

'How to Lose A Popularity Contest'
This high-school romantic comedy follows Ellie (Sara Waisglass), an overachiever who’s spent every year of school obsessed with classmates’ opinions and laser-focused on getting into a top college. When her ex-boyfriend jumps into the student body president race, Ellie sets out to sabotage him by rigging the competition, convinced that popularity means everything.
Her plans change, however, when she’s forced to team up with Nate (Chase Hudson), a laid-back popular kid she initially despises. As they work together on the campaign, their rivalry turns into something much more substantial, and as you can imagine, blossoms into a romance.

'Terri Joe: Missionary in Miami'
TikTok star Terri Joe (Psyiconic) shows up in her own movie with this farcical look at her character, born in the depths of TikTok streams. The retired missionary has a peaceful life that's instantly upended when she gets caught up in a chaotic criminal scheme in Miami.
Terri Joe is obviously a great person with a heart of gold, which you'll know if you've ever watched any of her livestreams, so you can imagine she'll navigate this situation just about as elegantly as everything else she's presented with.
