Those looking for something new this week can dive into Prime Video’s latest multi-generational drama with a mystical edge. There’s also “The Boys,” holding strong at No. 1 as a new episode drops, alongside an animated superhero series that’s just wrapped its fourth season.

‘The House of the Spirits’
Prime Video’s latest original, “The House of the Spirits,” is an eight-episode limited drama and the first Spanish-language TV adaptation of Isabel Allende’s bestselling novel. The show is designed as a sweeping, cinematic family saga, unfolding across multiple decades and told through shifting timelines and perspectives. It uses a non-linear structure, with parts of the story framed through written accounts and memories. If you enjoy a good character-driven, prestige-style drama, this new series should be on your watchlist.
“The House of the Spirits” follows the Trueba family across several decades in a South American country, beginning in the early 20th century. The story centers on Clara (Nicole Wallace), a young woman with unusual abilities, and Esteban (Alfonso Herrera), an ambitious landowner whose decisions shape the family’s future. The series moves through the experiences of their daughter Blanca (Fernanda Urrejola) and granddaughter Alba (Rochi Hernández), whose paths intertwine.

‘The Boys’
It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means. A new episode of “The Boys” season 5 has dropped, and with it, we’re now just two episodes away from the end of the iconic superhero series. But there’s still more to come: a spinoff, “Vought Rising,” centered on fan-favorite Soldier Boy, is on the way. Plus, the season 5 finale of “The Boys” will hit Regal Cinemas in 4DX one day early, arriving on May 19 ahead of its Prime Video release. This is your chance to experience an epic showdown on the big screen.
“The Boys” season 5 continues the escalating conflict between Billy Butcher’s (Karl Urban) fractured team and Homelander’s (Antony Starr) increasingly authoritarian control over Vought and the Supe world. With key members of The Boys scattered, imprisoned, or missing, the group struggles to regroup while overcoming a society that is tightening under Homelander’s influence. Butcher returns with a dangerous plan involving a Supe-killing virus, raising the stakes for everyone involved.

‘Invincible’
Another great superhero series holding strong in Prime Video’s top 10 is “Invincible,” an animated drama that’s seriously brutal and intense. It’s based on the comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, and features some action-heavy sequences with more character-focused storytelling. Across its four seasons, it has become one of Prime Video’s flagship animated originals, praised for its voice performances and distinctive take on the superhero genre. As a fun fact, 9 “Walking Dead” cast members have voiced characters in “Invincible.”
“Invincible” season 4 follows Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) as he deals with the aftermath of major recent battles while trying to regain control over his life as a hero. With Earth still recovering from large-scale destruction, Mark is pulled back into action as new threats surface from both familiar enemies and expanding intergalactic forces. The season explores fractured relationships within the Guardians of the Globe and the growing Viltrumite presence.
