In 1838 Germany, Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp), who as a young girl once prayed for a companion, lives with her husband Thomas (Nicholas Hoult). Thomas, a clerk, is sent by his employer, Knock, to meet the reclusive Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård) in the Carpathian Mountains. He is tasked with convincing Orlok to purchase a ruined manor in their hometown of Wisborg.
Before he leaves, Ellen begins having disturbing dreams and suffers convulsions: those around her are worried but unsure how to help. On his journey, Thomas faces strange warnings, local hostility, and unnerving supernatural signs before arriving at Orlok’s castle. Meanwhile, Orlok, a monstrous being, transports both plague-infested rats and soil from his own burial ground back to Wisborg, setting in motion a virulent outbreak.

“Us” follows Adelaide Wilson, a woman haunted by a traumatic childhood encounter with her own double. Years later, she returns to the Santa Cruz coast with her husband Gabe and their children, Zora and Jason, for what’s meant to be a relaxing family getaway.
As strange coincidences and unsettling events begin to pile up, Adelaide’s unease grows into full-blown fear. One night, four figures appear in their driveway, each one an identical copy of the Wilson family. The doubles, dressed in red and armed with scissors, launch a violent attack that forces Adelaide and her family into a desperate fight for survival.

‘The Boogeyman’ (2023)
“The Boogeyman” follows the Harper family — sisters Sadie (Sophie Thatcher) and Sawyer (Vivien Lyra Blair), who are still reeling from the recent death of their mother. Their father, Will (Chris Messina), a therapist, struggles to connect with them as he buries his own grief beneath a calm exterior.
Everything changes when a distraught man named Lester Billings (David Dastmalchian) visits Will’s home, pleading for help and insisting that a dark, unseen force killed his children. Not long after the encounter, eerie disturbances begin inside the Harper house. Strange noises echo through the halls, lights flicker, and Sawyer becomes convinced that something sinister is hiding in the darkness and growing bolder with each passing night.

‘Oculus’ (2013)
Siblings Kaylie (Karen Gillan) and Tim Russell (Brenton Thwaites) are still haunted by the violent deaths of their parents a decade earlier. Tim has just been released from a psychiatric facility, where he was treated after being accused of their father’s murder.
Determined to prove that a supernatural force was responsible, Kaylie tracks down an antique mirror known as the Lasser Glass, believing it drove their parents insane. She brings it back to their childhood home, setting up cameras and experiments to document its effects. Throughout the night, reality begins to warp as the mirror manipulates what they see and experience.

‘The Descent’ (2005)
"The Descent" follows six women — Sarah (Shauna Macdonald), Juno (Natalie Mendoza), Beth, Sam (MyAnna Buring), Rebecca (Saskia Mulder), and Holly (Nora-Jane Noone) — who reunite for a caving expedition in the Appalachian Mountains. Sarah is still grieving the tragic death of her husband and daughter. As the friends traverse the uncharted cave system, they become trapped after a sudden collapse blocks their exit.
With essentials running out and no way to call for assistance, stress and fear overwhelm the women. Soon, they realize they are not alone: Humanoid, predatory creatures that have evolved in the dark begin hunting them one by one.
