“Avengers: Doomsday” is shaping up to be one of the biggest movies of the year, bringing together a huge roster of Marvel heroes from three different universes as their worlds are set on a collision course. Facing the new threat of Doctor Doom, the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men must unite to survive what could be the MCU’s biggest multiversal crisis yet.

But honestly, keeping up with the MCU has become a job in itself. Marvel has introduced plenty of new lore that could be easy to miss or forget, from the multiverse and alternate timelines to different realities and the consequences of messing with time itself. And with “Doomsday” bringing so many corners of the universe together, some of those details could prove more important than ever.
