Chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude make it easier than ever to code without knowing anything about computer programming. Known as vibe coding, users can build websites in minutes or even create functional apps with a single prompt.

I've been experimenting with vibe coding, and I've recently discovered that with a free Claude subscription you can create up to five websites in a single session. After that, you’ll need to wait five hours to reset your usage or upgrade to Claude Pro.

I put Claude to the test and built nine unique websites in under an hour. Here are the results.

1. Retro arcade landing page

Prompt: “Build a neon-themed retro arcade website with a pixel font, pulsing background animation, and three big glowing buttons that link to fake ‘classic games.’ Add sound effects when hovering over the buttons.”

This neon-themed retro arcade website gives an authentic feel of an ’80s game hall. The pixel-style font is really fun and each button has its own interactive sound effect. With glowing corner accents, and subtle glitch effects, the design is exactly what I was hoping for; it's responsive, supports keyboard navigation and is ready to link to real games. Overall, this site definitely feels like stepping straight into a classic arcade.

2. Simple recipe blog

Prompt: “Create a minimalist recipe blog homepage with a clean white background, elegant serif fonts, and a grid of three recipe cards. Each card should include a photo, a recipe title, and a hover effect that reveals ingredients. Make it mobile-friendly.”

This minimalist recipe blog homepage is clean and elegant. The mobile-friendly design offers touch-friendly interactions with click-to-reveal ingredients, ideal for mobile. The typography and spacing work well for all screen sizes.

The design strikes a perfect balance with simple function and sophisticated typography. Unique details like the staggered ingredient animations bring the whole page together, giving it both premium and welcoming appeal.

3. Sci-fi inspired startup page

Prompt: "Design a futuristic one-page site for a fictional space mining startup. Include a fullscreen starfield animation, a mission statement in bold metallic text, and an animated spaceship that slowly flies across the screen. Add a call-to-action button: ‘Join the Fleet.’”

From a 1980s arcade to a sci-fi movie, this site features a fullscreen starfield with twinkling stars, shooting comets and drifting space particles, while a cute spaceship flies across the screen. The bold metallic typography, shimmering copy and pulsing button give off a vibe of exploration.

The interactive elements like mouse trails, keyboard navigation and parallax scrolling really make the user experience come to life. Claude did an excellent job with details.

4. Children's story site

Prompt: “Create a playful, colorful website for a kids’ storybook. Use large whimsical fonts, illustrations of animals, and a button that flips through three short story ‘pages’ with simple animations. Include a background that changes color with each page.”

Claude created an adorable website bursting with whimsical charm. The story follows three animals: Felix the Fox, Benny the Bear, and Bella the Butterfly on a colorful adventure across three interactive pages.

Each page of the site offers playful background gradients, bouncy animal emojis and smooth flip animations, all of which make it feel like a real, interactive book. The fonts are clear and cheerful, the added animated details are inviting, and overall, this site is engaging for young readers, especially those who are used to screentime.

5. Interactive data dashboard

Prompt: “Build a modern, dark-themed data dashboard with interactive charts using dummy data. Include a sidebar menu, a live clock at the top, and three charts: a bar chart, a line chart, and a pie chart. Add hover animations and smooth transitions between sections.”

I decided to create this site as a business case example. The dark-themed dashboard includes all the featuers I requested in the prompt including a sleek sidebar menu with smooth animations. The responsive design works for desktop and mobile and includes four main sections with smooth transitions.

I like the real-time clock in the header and the interactive charts are a cool bonus. I appreciate how Claude added dummy data so I could actually visualize the display.

6. Zen garden meditation site

Prompt: “Build a calming one-page meditation website with a soft gradient background, animated rippling water at the bottom, and a cherry blossom tree whose petals slowly fall across the screen. Include a big ‘Start Meditation’ button that plays relaxing ambient music and fades in an inspirational quote.”

I was really pleased with the outcome of this site. The soft gradient background with colors like peach, pink, coral and purple stand out to help promote tranquility and mindfulness. The website creates a truly peaceful atmosphere perfect for meditation.

7. Cyberpunk night market

Prompt: “Create a neon cyberpunk-themed website showcasing a futuristic street market. Use glitchy hover effects, flickering neon signs, and animated hologram-style menus. Each product card should light up when hovered and include a short synthwave sound effect. Add a looping rain animation for atmosphere.”

The standout feature of this website is the atmospheric effect. From looping rain animation and flickering neon signs to the animated grid background, this site is visually appealing.

The three different synth sounds and interactive buttons make this site user friendly and enticing. There's no way I could have coded these features on my own without Claude doing all the work. The website perfectly captures that gritty, neon-lit cyberpunk street market atmosphere with smooth animations, authentic synthwave sounds and immersive visual effects.

8. Fantasy quest journal

Prompt: “Design a fantasy-themed adventure log website styled like an old parchment scroll. Include a glowing quill cursor that leaves sparkles when it moves, a navigation sidebar shaped like a medieval spellbook, and a page where users can ‘collect’ three magical items by clicking icons that animate when found.”

This prompt proves that Claude can easily tackle a magical fantasy design with ease. The glowing quill cursor leaves sparkling trails as you explore the site, while the navigation unfolds as a leather-bound medieval spellbook with animated hover effects.

The main content sits on parchment scrolls styled with aged textures and ornate medieval typography, giving the site an authentic old-world charm. With responsive design, hover glows and interactive achievements, every click is filled with ancient magic interactivity.

Prompt: “Build a playful interactive website where visitors can ‘adopt’ a cartoon pet (cat, dog, or dragon). Each pet has idle animations, reacts when clicked (purring, wagging tail, breathing fire), and can be ‘fed’ by dragging food icons to them. Add a cheerful background soundtrack with the option to mute.”

I created an interactive pet adoption website that’s as delightful as it is engaging. The adorable pets each have their own playful animations and personality. Claude makes it easy to drag and drop food to feed them, watch their happiness meters rise and unlock joyful reactions from purrs to fire-breathing roars.

There's also a looping cheerful melody to help set the mood. The site is fully responsive, touch-friendly and clearly designed for a fun, emotional and interactive experience.

Final thoughts

With a single prompt all of these websites were created with zero effort. Each one is unique, making it possible to create multiple websites that do not look like cookie cutters.

Everything from the colors and fonts to overall user experience makes me want to continue vibe coding with Claude. It got the prompt right every time, although if I wanted to tweak or edit anything, the chatbot lets me do that, too.

If you've ever wanted to experiment with vibe coding, even with a free account, Claude makes it fun to bring your creative ideas to life.
