New on Hulu in October 2025 — all the new shows and movies to watch
From a engrossing true-crime thriller to a returning animated fave

We only have a limited time left to enjoy Hulu, what with the standalone app set to be officially rolled into Disney's streaming service, Disney Plus, sometime next year. But if this is the streamer's swan song, at least they're doing it up big, with a whole host of buzzy new titles and returning favorites hitting its extensive library in October 2025.
Among this month's additions is a treat for true-crime lovers: "Murdaugh: Death in the Family," a dramatization of the headline-grabbing, spine-chilling Murdaugh Family murder case, led by Oscar winner Patricia Arquette and "Oppenheimer" actor Jason Clarke.
Similarly pulpy is the upcoming remake of the 1992 maternal thriller "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle," which stars "Ahsoka" actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead as an upscale suburban mom whose family is infiltrated by a new nanny (played by "Longlegs" star Maika Monroe). And animated fans will no doubt be excited to hear that sci-fi sitcom "Solar Opposites" will be back on Hulu for its sixth and final season, meaning even more earthside adventures for Korvo and co.
Below, we've rounded up our three top picks of what's coming to Hulu this month that deserve a spot on your watchlist. You can also find a complete list of everything new on Hulu in October 2025.
New on Hulu in October 2025: Top picks
'Solar Opposites'
"The epic story of the people of The Wall has all built to this thrilling and shocking conclusion," Hulu says of the final chapter of "Solar Opposites," which is set to premiere on Monday, October 13.
In the last 10 episodes of the cartoon sitcom — which was co-created by Justin Roiland ("Rick and Morty") and Mike McMahan ("Star Trek: Lower Decks") — we'll see how Korvo (Dan Stevens), Terry (Thomas Middleditch), Jesse (Mary Mack) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) deal with "their greatest challenge yet": curvbing their expensive habits and living on a budget once their alien diamond-making machine gets destroyed.

'Murdaugh: Death in the Family'
The so-called "Murdaugh murders" have captivated news junkies and crime fans for years, getting the TV treatment with nonfiction documentaries and sensationalist specials. And now it's getting the limited series treatment, with Patricia Arquette and Jason Clarke portraying Maggie and Alex Murdaugh, a wealthy and powerful South Carolina couple whose lives become upended by financial scandal and familial tragedy.
"Maggie and Alex enjoy a lavish life of privilege as members of one of South Carolina's most powerful legal dynasties. But when their son Paul is involved in a deadly boat crash, the family is faced with a test unlike any they've ever encountered," reads the logline for the eight-part series. "As details come to light and new challenges emerge, the family's connections to several mysterious deaths raise questions which threaten everything Maggie and Alex hold dear."

'Hand That Rocks the Cradle'
If you're a fan of the thriller genre, you no doubt remember the 1992 Curtis Hanson film "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle" with Annabella Sciorra, Rebecca De Mornay, Matt McCoy, Ernie Hudson, and Julianne Moore. That psychological drama centered on a mourning widow (De Mornay) who poses as a nanny to seek revenge on one of her late husband's accusers after he commits suicide due to sexual assault allegations lobbed against him at his medical practice.
Director Michelle Garva Cevera updates that story for 2025, with Maika Monroe as the vengeful nanny Polly Murphy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the unsuspecting mother Caitlin Morales and Raúl Castillo as Caitlin's husband Miguel.
“We kept the plot, we kept some of the dynamics [of] having a 10-year-old girl, a baby, [and] the ages of the characters, but the whole thing, the city [and] the themes particularly are very different,” Cevera told ScreenRant. “The motivations for revenge and the way the conflict grows in the film … it’s particular to this new story and characters.”
