October is almost here, and while Apple TV Plus isn’t serving up anything particularly spooky for the Halloween season, the streaming service still has a few dark and gripping titles to keep you on edge. Instead of jump scares and haunted houses, this month’s lineup leans into tense thrillers and slow-burn suspense, the kind of storytelling Apple does best.

One of the most anticipated drops is “The Lost Bus,” a survival drama based on real events that follows a school bus driver and a teacher trying to save 22 children from a raging wildfire. Also landing this month is “The Last Frontier,” a thriller series about a U.S. marshal in Alaska who must unravel a conspiracy after a plane crash unleashes fugitives on his community. You can also catch the third season of “Loot,” which sees Maya Rudolph’s character reeling from a public betrayal.

So even if Apple isn’t going all-in on horror this October, it’s still delivering plenty of reasons to dim the lights and settle in. Here’s everything new coming to Apple TV Plus this month.
