Admittedly, I haven't always been a big fan of smart lighting at home. Even with the fantastic selection of the best smart lights available, I often didn't make full use of the app settings. But that was until my son introduced me to the world of immersive TV backlighting — and now I’m converted. Best of all, you can get it on sale for President’s Day.
Right now, the WiZ Connected HDMI Sync Box with TV Backlight is $83 from $98 at Amazon. That’s a decent saving of 15% off, for a 75-85 inch TV. Alternatively, there is a version for 55-65 inch televisions available for only $73.
In fact, this smart gadget has totally transformed my movie nights (and my son’s gaming obsession). Here’s why it’s a great deal that I’d recommend.
Simply sync to your HDMI 2.0 devices to get real-time color matching and sound with your TV and gaming consoles. It comes with one HDMI input and supports 4K at 60Hz, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. Easy to set up and control via the Wiz app, you can select pre-set sync modes, adjust color saturation and light intensity, and even set schedules. Ideal for enhancing movie nights and gaming sessions with your favorite TV series.
What we love most about the Wiz TV Backlight
First of all, the LED light strips were a breeze to install, with no complicated setup or rearranging of my entertainment console. This was probably helped by the fact that the lights are all connected with an adhesive strip underneath to make it simple to string around my TV.
Controlling the lights is simple using the Wiz app, which offers easy setup. With the app, you can choose from pre-set sync modes (Cinematic, Vibrant, Relaxation, and Rhythmic), fine-tune the color saturation and light intensity, and even schedule to your viewing preference.
Perhaps one of our favorite features is the real-time color syncing that perfectly matches the action on screen. My son was particularly ecstatic while playing Mario Kart and watching the lights change color with every scene. In fact, he tested this out on pretty much all of his entire Nintendo game collection, and even I was impressed.
The new Cinematic mode and the sound sync feature have seriously upped our movie nights, and they're way more exciting now. Plus, for a cozy and relaxed evening, I can easily switch to the Fireplace setting or craft a custom warm light gradient to create the perfect ambiance.
And for those who really want the ultimate smart home set-up, you can connect and control it via the Google Home app, using voice commands to set the lights. So if you want to transform your home entertainment set-up in literally seconds, this is a great deal not to be missed.
