Amazon Prime Day is always a good time to save a few bucks on gaming, and if you're in the market for a new Switch 2 gamepad, we've got good news: one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 controllers we've tested is on sale.

If you've spent the first few months of the Nintendo Switch 2's lifespan thinking, "I'd like a more traditional Switch 2 gamepad, but don't want to spend $89 on the official Switch 2 Pro Controller," you can grab the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless for less this Prime Day.

US-based gamers can snag a small $5 discount on this solid third-party controller for October Prime Day. The Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless is an ergonomic way to elevate your gaming experience, and comes in funky colorways (though at the time of writing, only the Black/Gold Super Mario Star version was discounted). It offers customizable back buttons, responsive thumbsticks and triggers, and comparable battery life to Nintendo's new Pro controller... but at a significantly lower price point.

This deal's way better for UK-based gamers, as you can get this great gamepad for 20% off the list price, and you get your choice of either the Invincible Mario (pictured here) or the Super Mario Star finishing. It's still one of our favorite Switch 2 controllers, and at $39, it's cheaper than our current top pick for Switch 2 gamers on a budget; it's a no-brainer Prime Day pickup.

In our full Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless review, reviewer Nikita Achanta gave the controller a 4-star rating and said: "The Rematch Wireless features extremely responsive analog thumbsticks and triggers, and comes with two back buttons that can be quickly remapped on the fly, and they make games more immersive. They also contribute to the controller’s ergonomics, and boy, is this a comfy gamepad."

Even though it's missing some of the Switch 2 Pro Controller's features (no C button for GameChat, no rumble), the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless delivers where it counts. If you just want a comfortable controller to continue punching your way through Donkey Kong Bananza or any of the best Switch 2 games, this is a fantastic budget wireless option that's comfortable to use for long gaming sessions.

It's also a worthwhile investment for Nintendo Switch owners who haven't yet invested in the new console, as the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless controller is compatible across the entire Switch ecosystem.

If you think you might buy a Switch 2 in the near future to play, say, The Duskbloods, and you know you're going to want a traditional gamepad to play it, October Prime Day could be the perfect time to buy a controller ahead of time without splashing too much cash.
