We return to "Grantchester" in the summer of 1963 with Alphy having an emotional reunion with his estranged mother. Meanwhile, Geordie must decide whether he wants a promotion, even though it will mean the end of his unofficial partnership with the Reverend.

There's also Cathy's career to keep an eye on, Leonard finding his paternal instincts, and Miss Scott dealing with her own life-changing event, too. Plus, there's a locked-room mystery that places Alphy as the prime suspect.
