Conference championship weekend is make-or-break for No.9 Alabama in the SEC, No.11 BYU in the Big 12, both No.24 North Texas and No.20 Tulane in the American — and the ACC as a whole. The blockbuster clash between No.1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana in the Big Ten, meanwhile, is a straight shootout for the top seed in the 2025-26 College Football Playoff, plus the Heisman Trophy.

You can watch 2025 FBS conference championship games from anywhere with a VPN and potentially for FREE.

There are nine FBS conference championship games taking place across Friday and Saturday, the biggest being the American (North Texas vs Tulane), Big 12 (BYU vs Texas Tech), SEC (Georgia vs Alabama), ACC (Virginia vs Duke) and Big Ten (Ohio State vs Indiana) title showdowns.

The American Championship Game is effectively sudden-death for either the Mean Green or the Green Wave, with the winner likely to make the CFP cut and the loser set to miss out. Texas Tech, No.4 in the penultimate edition of the rankings, have made the Big 12 Championship Game for the first time in program history. While they can probably afford to lose, a maiden playoff berth is too precious to risk. BYU, meanwhile, need to win. Ominously for the Cougars, who lost 29-7 when the teams met in Week 10, the Red Raiders are coming off a shutout.

Having effectively secured a playoff spot already, the pressure's off No.3 Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. But even more than silverware, they'll want to shatter their rival's hopes, with No.9 Alabama on the fringes of qualification. The Crimson Tide edged their Week 5 clash, running out 24-21 winners.

Although any team in college football would kill to be in either No.1 Ohio State or No.2 Indiana's position, the Big Ten Championship Game is a huge deal for both schools. The Buckeyes may be reigning champions, but the last time they qualified for this game was way back in 2019. Despite being one of the best teams in the country, the Hoosiers still aren't being taken seriously because they haven't won a conference title since 1967. With QBs Julian Sayin and Fernando Mendoza the favorites, the game effectively doubles — triples? — up as a Heisman decider.

The ACC Championship Game could, however, be even more consequential. Since the five highest-ranked conference champions earn automatic bids, regardless of where they rank, a Duke victory could prevent anyone from the conference from making the CFP field. The Blue Devils have lost five games this season, and standing in their way are No.17 Virginia.
