Netflix has confirmed its slate for April 2026, and it’s a pretty robust collection of new originals, alongside plenty of enjoyable licensed movies (and a few TV shows) being added to the platform’s already sizeable library.
Every month, I comb through the new additions to find the fresh arrivals that have scored highly on the review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. It’s by no means a perfect metric for judging a movie’s quality, but it does offer a snapshot look at a film’s critical reception. To be upfront, April’s new arrivals are far from the most well-received collection of movies added to Netflix.
Still, I have managed to find a trio of recent Netflix arrivals that each managed to score at least 90% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes. Here’s the rundown.

Netflix is adding the first five “Mission: Impossible” movies this month. The early entries have their strengths (particularly “Mission: Impossible III”), but 2011’s “Ghost Protocol” really took the spy franchise up a gear. This movie set the template for future “M: I” movies, but above all, it’s just a hugely enjoyable blockbuster. Helmed by Brad Bird, it stars Tom Cruise as franchise lead Ethan Hunt, with Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton in support.
So what’s the impossible mission this time around? After an attack on the Kremlin, Hunt’s IMF (Impossible Mission Force) team is implicated in the attack, forcing the president to invoke the titular Ghost Protocol. The IMF is disavowed and must embark on a globe-trotting mission to locate the parties responsible for the attack. With no backup or agency support at hand, it’s up to Hunt and his team to save the day before it’s too late to prevent disaster.

‘Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation’ (2015)
If one well-regarded “Mission: Impossible” movie isn’t enough spy action fun for you, good news: “Ghost Protocol’s” sequel, “Rogue Nation,” is also on Netflix this month, and in my opinion, it’s even better. Christopher McQuarrie takes over directing duties, who would go on to helm the franchise through to its current conclusion, and Rebecca Ferguson is added to the cast list as an undercover MI6 agent. The inclusion of Ferguson makes pretty much every movie better, and “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation” is no exception.

With the IMF deemed too reckless by CIA chief Alan Hunley (Alex Baldwin), the spy team is disbanded and its top operators absorbed into the CIA. All except one, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), who becomes a fugitive. But his real mission is to track down the leaders of the Syndicate, a powerful organization operating from the shadows. With Cruise in full action star mode, and a delightfully twisty plot (plus a great villain), “Rogue Nation” is a total blast.

‘A Quiet Place Part II’
The first “A Quiet Place” was a great sci-fi horror, and the sequel doesn’t drop the ball. “A Quiet Place Part II” expands the scope in some interesting ways and retains the sterling services of Emily Blunt. It also adds Cillian Murphy to the cast list for some extra star power. It does everything a sequel should: it builds on its predecessor, adds some new elements to the mix, and retains the core of what made the original such an intense and emotional ride.
Set in the aftermath of “A Quiet Place’s” finale, the Abbott family, led by mother Evelyn (Blunt), set off into a dangerous world in the hopes of finding fellow survivors. For the unaware, in the “A Quiet Place” universe, Earth has been overrun by deadly alien creatures that hunt using sound. It’s a great setup for some nerve-shredding scenes, and the premise is used to its full potential in this stellar sequel. If you missed out, now is a good time to get caught up, as “A Quiet Place Part III” is set to arrive in summer 2027.
