Best Samsung Z Flip 5 deals and plans in Australia for October 2024
Samsung's latest Flip phone is out now
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5 is out now in Australia, and while the pre-order period is officially over, there are still some bonuses to be found at select carriers.
The new Z Flip 5 boasts a number of refinements over last generation, including a new zero-gap hinge and a significantly larger exterior display (or Flex Window, as Samsung is calling it) that's 3.78 times bigger than it was on the Z Flip 4.
And, thanks to the inclusion of the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset that featured on this year's Galaxy S23 Ultra, you can expect improvements to both battery life and performance.
In terms of colour options, the Z Flip 5 is releasing in Mint, Graphite, Cream and Lavender, along with four additional colours (Grey, Blue, Green and Yellow) that will be exclusive to Samsung's online store.
While still far more affordable than its larger Fold sibling, which is also up for pre-order, the Z Flip 5 starts at AU$1,649 for the 256GB version, and tops out at AU$1,849 for the 512GB model.
Along with the ability to buy direct from Samsung, Aussies also have the option of picking the handset up from Optus, Vodafone or Telstra — either outright or on a plan. To make things easy for you, we've included information on the top Galaxy Z Flip 5 plans below.

Best Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 deals
Right now, Optus has the best incentive for those looking to score a Galaxy Z Flip 5, with the telco throwing in a free Galaxy Watch 6 (in Gold or Graphite) with the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Z Fold5 or S23 Series handsets, so long as you're on an eligible SIM plan and remain on a AU$10/mth Watch plan for 24 or 36 months. Pretty good deal!
Alternatively, Vodafone is offering AU$200 off the overall price of your when you stay connected to an elligible plan for either 24 or 36 months. On top of this, you can also trade in an eligible device in good working condition and score up to AU$300 in bonus value towards your handset.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 (256GB) | 40GB data | 24 months | AU$105.36p/m
Our pick for the best Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 plan has to be from Vodafone. On top of being the cheapest offer around, you get a AU$200 discount available when you pair it with a plan. We suggest pairing the 256GB device with Vodafone’s AU$45 Small plan, which gets you 40GB of data for AU$105.36 each month. If you’ve got an older handset to trade in, you’ll get a bonus AU$300 credit.
Total cost over 24 months is AU$2,528.64

Of course, if that amount of storage isn't enough, Vodafone also has the best price on the 512GB model Z Flip 5. And, like the previous plan, it’s discounted by AU$200. We think Vodafone’s Small plan offers the best value for most people, as it sets you up with 40GB a month for AU$45. With handset repayments thrown in, this plan will cost you AU$113.70 each billing. If you have an older phone you no longer need, trade it in and you’ll get a AU$300 bonus credit.
