Throughout my career, I've often reminded readers that the first few months of the year are one of the best times to save on a new TV. This is because, come spring, major TV brands are gearing up to ship their newest models. The closer we get to launch day, the cheaper last year's TVs become.

You can see this process playing out if you take a look at the Hisense U8QG, one of the best Mini-LED TVs we tested in 2025. Right now, the Hisense 65-inch U8QG is just $859 at Amazon. That's over $1,300 off its original price, and easily one of the best TV deals you'll come across this week.

The Hisense U8QG is one of the brightest TVs we've ever tested, but that's not the only trick up its sleeve. It's also packed with features for gaming and beyond. And, if you're an A/V enthusiast who values picture accuracy, you're sure to appreciate how well-tuned the U8QG is right out of the box.

I've spent a good amount of time with the U8QG, and I'm confident that this set is a great pick for casual streamers, gamers and A/V enthusiasts alike. Here's what you need to know about it.

The U8QG's best feature is its powerful panel. With close to 4,000 nits of HDR highlight brightness under its belt, the U8QG is near the top of the list of the brightest TVs we've tested in recent years. It's crackling brightness makes it reliable TV for viewers who do most of their viewing in a brightly lit room, but this punchy presentation also makes for a an immersive, cinematic picture on movie night, too.

The U8QG also comes with a ton of features for gaming and streaming. It supports 4K gaming at 120Hz (and up to 165Hz), so it's capable of making the most out of 4K titles on current-gen consoles.

The U8QG also comes with the Google TV smart platform built right in. I appreciate Google TV both for its relatively straightforward user experience and the robustness of its app library.

This Hisense TV also has a pretty nifty trick up its sleeve: excellent onboard audio. In his Hisense U8QG review, Ryan Epps described the U8QG's built-in sound system as “one of strongest audio systems of any TV in the last six months.”

Even before Amazon's limited-time discount, the U8QG was already one of the most value-forward Mini-LED TVs of the year. This deal makes it a no-brainer.
