I can’t tell you how excited I am by KitchenAid's new stand mixer, which has an epic new feature. KitchenAid has been making some of the best stand mixers since 1919, and now it’s just added a new model to its family. Today, the Artisan Plus enters the market with a MSRP of $599.
The Artisan Plus goes beyond what KitchenAid’s Artisan stand mixer offers with extra enhancements. The most remarkable addition is the LED bowl light that illuminates while you work, but there’s even more.
KitchenAid has just wowed us with its newest tilt-head stand mixer, which features a LED light to illuminate the mixing bowl, extra smooth precision controls and a 1/2 speed function. What's more, it comes in four exclusive colors.
What to expect from KitchenAid's Artisan Plus

According to Chad Ries, Global Head of Product, Brand and Insights at KitchenAid Small Appliances, the Artisan Plus, “is the most premium stand mixer option in KitchenAid brand history.”

So, what exactly does it offer? The star of the show is the LED feature in the mixing bowl. Apart from its stunning appearance when switched on, it gives greater visibility in the bowl, so you can see what's really going on with your ingredients.
The new model also features precision speed control, with a smooth glide between speeds. And for extra control, it also offers a ½ speed setting so you can fold delicate ingredients, such as blueberries, into a light meringue, without overmixing.
There’s also a soft start to stop the over-bowl splatter when you first start it up. Although it is missing the mixer shield, which is a tad disappointing.
But overall, I can foresee that these small changes will make a big difference when using the appliance.

It also comes with four accessories, including the standard beater wire whisk, dough hood and double-edge flex beater (as mentioned above). And these stainless steel accessories are all dishwasher safe.
I think the double-edge flex beater is a real game-changer. I've already written about how I wouldn't be without the flex-edge beater, and that it should be included as standard with every KitchenAid mixer, but this version is even better.
What's more, if you were considering upgrading your current KitchenAid stand mixer, and own any of KitchenAid's other attachments, such as a pasta attachment, they'll still fit onto this model's central hub.
KitchenAid wins us over again with color
KitchenAid is well known for its strength in color and the wide options it delivers across its range of stand mixers. And it doesn’t disappoint with the new Artisan Plus model.
It offers four exclusive colorways, in three distinct finishes, which aren’t available in any other of the brand’s products. Choose Sundried Tomato or Wild Blueberry in a crinkle finish, Iron Ore Bronze in a metallic finish, or Oat in a satin finish. To me they all have an added intensity than any other KitchenAid finishes I’ve seen.
Apart from these four new shades, the Artisan Plus is also available in 11 of KitchenAid’s most popular colorways, including Agave, Cast Iron Black, Matte Black, Blue Steel, Cardamom, Feather Pink, Juniper, Mint Julep, Medallion Silver, Porcelain White, and Pebbled Palm.
My first impression of KitchenAid's Artisan Plus?
I think the Artisan Plus is something really special, and I know many KitchenAid fans are going to be just as delighted with the new launch.
I’m waiting to get my hands on the new model, so I can put it to work in my kitchen. Once this rather majestic appliance arrives, I’ll be reporting back with my findings.
