I doubled the storage space in my closet with this $5 IKEA rack, and it can be stacked

There's nothing quite like a bursting open closet to ruin an otherwise stylish bedroom. And while some of us love to tell people that we have a walk-in closet with enough storage for a family of five's clothes, others (like me) do not have such a luxury. My wardrobe is small, but I do try to maximize the space in there. Not only do I use it for my clothes, but it's also where my shoes and my handbag collection live, so I need it to be savvy.

I spotted this $5 shoe rack at IKEA, and thought I'd give it a try to add some extra shelves into my closet. Not only is it super affordable, but the GREJIG shoe rack adds a pop of red to this small space, too. It's also easy to keep clean thanks to its metal design.

Perfect for holding two or more pairs of shoes, this red shoe rack is even foldable for when it's not needed, or if you ever need the closet space back. Plus, you can easily slide it under furniture or down the side of a console table, too. Its limited edition red design will definitely add some fun to any room, and better yet? These are stackable, so that you can maximize your vertical space. Use them inside a closet, in an entryway, under a bed or out in the open.

This white metal shoe rack boasts a similar design to the IKEA one, just at a larger price tag. If you can't get to your local store, this is a great alternative as it's also foldable, while it comes in 4 size choices to suit the size of your closet.

An affordable solution

Not only is this shoe rack handy for holding 2-3 pairs of shoes, but since they are stackable, you could use them inside a any closet, and nest them in doubles or triples if you have enough room. This will really maximize the amount of usable storage space you can use for shoes, without needing to drill a single hole in your wall. The perfect storage solution for renters!

For $4, it's a low price to pay for something that's so versatile — don't just use them for shoes, but they also work great for storing handbags, neatly folded and stacked clothes such as sweaters and jeans, and even things like kids' toy storage bins.

The best part about the design of this shoe rack has to be that they are stackable. Its steel design also makes it strong, while its powder coating means it's easy to clean should you get yours dirty from shoes or anything else.

The rest of the line

This shoe tray is designed to fit underneath the GREJIG shoe rack and it's raised at the edges to prevent shoe messes like mud and water from leaking onto your floors. This way, your floor becomes an extra storage shelf, while this mat is super easy to wipe clean, too. Its red design matches the shoe rack!
