“One Battle After Another” emerged as the big winner at the Oscars 2026, winning no fewer than six awards from Academy votes, including Best Picture and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, fending off Ryan Coogler’s action-horror project “Sinners” as the film of the night.
PTA’s latest feature follows Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a washed-up revolutionary who lives off-grid with his daughter (Chase Infiniti). When she disappears and his old nemesis resurfaces, the former radical sets off to find her … and we get to follow along with him on the gripping ride that follows.
Alongside “Sinners,” “One Battle After Another” was one of the most talked-about and celebrated movies of 2025. The film had the best-ever opening weekend for a Paul Thomas Anderson release, performed well at the box office, and after its Oscars sweep, I’d guess plenty of people are probably trying to figure out which streaming service it’s on right now.
