The women's 800m final is the final individual women's track event at the 2025 World Athletics Championships with good reason – that reason is middle-distance queen Keely Hodgkinson. Among the biggest stars in athletics, the 23-year-old Brit has been kept back for the final day in Tokyo after she swept to gold last summer at the Paris Olympics. Can she add a world title to that Olympic crown?

You can watch the women's 800m final at the World Athletics Championships 2025 from anywhere with a VPN and potentially for free.

Hodgkinson nearly didn't make it to Tokyo. Post-Paris, the 23-year-old did not race for 376 days because of a hamstring injury she couldn't shift. On her comeback race in the Silesia Diamond League a month ago, though, she ran 1min 54.74sec – the fastest time in the world this year, nearly two seconds quicker than anyone else.

Hodgkinson cruised into the final by winning her semifinal in Tokyo where she will be joined by compatriot and training partner Georgia Hunter-Bell. Aiming for a British one-two, the duo have been keeping busy by running up and down their hotel corridors in between races.

The Brits won't have it all their own way, though. Mary Moraa, the supremely talented 25-year-old Kenyan, will try to disrupt the race's rhythm by varying her speed throughout, while Switzerland's Audrey Werro is the European U23 champion and won the Diamond League final (Hodgkinson was absent) two weeks ago. Lilian Odira ran quickest of the semifinalists and she'll be well in the mix, too.

There is also U.S. interest in the final in the form of Sage Hurta-Klecker, while Australia's Jess Hull, who picked up bronze in the 1,500m a few days ago, will look to add to her Tokyo 2025 medal haul.
