When it comes to picking what to watch on Prime Video over the weekend, there’s no better place to start than the streaming service’s always rotating top 10 most-watched movies list. Here you can find all the options that are drawing the most attention from your fellow Prime Video subscribers.

However, a word of caution: Don’t mistakenly assume any movie that claims a spot in the Prime Video top 10 is a worthwhile watch. I track the most popular movies on Prime Video every week and can confirm that often subpar picks find their way into the list. For example, “Maintenance Required” is currently ranked at No. 2, and this original rom-com is rubbish.

So, to ensure your weekend streaming watchlist isn’t full of skippable duds, I’ve combed through the current Prime Video top 10 and picked out the three movies that are worth watching this weekend. But a quick warning, my picks right now are dominated by James Bond. After all, Prime Video did just add every single Bond movie, so it's no surprise the spy has the spotlight.

Best movies in the Prime Video top 10

‘No Time to Die’ (2021)

“No Time to Die” marks Daniel Craig’s final outing as superspy James Bond, and while it wasn’t quite the perfect send-off for the best incarnation of the character to date (in my humble opinion), it’s still an excellent globe-trotting thriller with all the hallmarks of Craig’s time as Bond. The introduction is particularly spectacular. Of course, this does mean that the rest of the movie struggles to match up, but this is no “Quantum of Solace”-level misfire.

After the frantic opening, Bond has retired from active duty and is living in Jamaica. But there's little time to rest, as the suave spy is drawn back into a dangerous world of espionage when his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) asks for his help in extracting a kidnapped scientist, taken by the sinister Spectre. This puts Bond on a collision course with one of his most dangerous foes yet, Lyutsifer Safin (Rami Malek). “No Time to Die’s” narrative gets a little messy at times, and the ending remains divisive among Bond fans, but it’s got plenty of thrilling moments alongside a few flaws.

‘Casino Royale’ (2006)

Watch On

“Casino Royale” isn’t just the best Bond movie starring Daniel Craig, it’s the best Bond flick ever made (again, in my opinion). A much-needed heel-turn from the cheesy tone of the previous Pierce Brosnan era, “Casino Royale” takes inspiration from the likes of the “Bourne” series with a more grounded tone. It brings the legendary character into the 21st century. It also packs one of the franchise’s greatest ever villains in Mads Mikkelsen’s Le Chiffre, and it eschews Bond’s womanizing ways for a real love story between the rookie spy and Eva Green’s Vesper Lynd. It also features poker scenes that are as intense as any explosive shootout.

Framed as Bond’s first mission after receiving his 00 agent status and being granted a license to kill, the international operative jets off to participate in a high-stakes poker game hosted by international banker Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen). But Bond hasn’t come to Montenegro on a poker-playing vacation, the Albanian financier has deep links to terrorist organizations, and Bond must prevent Le Chiffre from winning the prize pot at all costs.

‘Tremors’ (1990)

Watch On

“Tremors” was an unlikely franchise starter, but the 1990s monster movie has since spawned six sequel movies and a TV show. But as is often the case with long-running Hollywood franchises, the original remains the best. “Tremors” underwhelmed at the box office upon release, but quickly developed a cult following in the years afterward. Directed by Ron Howard and starring Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward and Finn Carter, it’s certainly not a terrifying horror movie, but it balances its creature feature element with self-aware comedy.

Set in the fictional town of Perfection, Nevada, “Tremors” centers on two friends, Val (Bacon) and Earl (Fred), who are fed up with their unexciting lives. Their plans to skip town are halted when they discover a monstrous snake-like creature that lives underground. Teaming up with a scientist (Carter), they must fight for survival while seeking a way to defeat this prehistoric underground-dwelling beast. “Tremors” is certainly of its time, but its shlocky thrills still have their appeal, and the iconic Kevin Bacon is on top form here.
