Prime Video recently released first-look images and the release date for “Malice,” a new thriller series in which Jack Whitehall’s character infiltrates a wealthy family with vengeful intentions. The show was first announced in January 2024, so it’s taken almost two years for it to arrive on the streaming service.

But given the longer-than-usual wait for a streaming original to arrive, let’s hope it’s a good indicator of its quality. Directed by Mike Barker and Leonora Lonsdale and created by James Wood, this thriller is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on November 14, 2025, with all six episodes available to stream in over 240 countries and territories.

Prime Video has recently found success with psychological thrillers, with series like “The Girlfriend” proving there’s a strong appetite for suspenseful, twist-filled storytelling. “Malice” looks set to follow in its footsteps while giving Jack Whitehall a chance to step away from his usual comedic roles into a darker, more serious performance.

By the sounds of it, “Malice” seems to combine the luxurious setting and psychological tension reminiscent of “The White Lotus” with the intimate, character-driven drama of Netflix's hit original “Sirens.” Set against the backdrop of a lavish Greek holiday and a posh London home, the series will delve into the challenges of wealth, power, and manipulation.

I like to stay on top of what’s coming from the biggest streaming services, from Netflix to Prime Video, keeping an eye on what’s lined up for the rest of the year. And honestly, who doesn’t love a good thriller to get your heart racing and your mind turning?

Along with the first look images and release date, we also got an official synopsis: “Adam (Jack Whitehall) is a charismatic tutor who charms his way into the life of the wealthy Tanner family while they’re on holiday in Greece. When the family’s nanny falls dangerously ill, Adam orchestrates his way in to their London home and his true vengeful nature begins to emerge...

Adam now starts to turn Jamie Tanner (David Duchovny) and Nat (Carice Van Houten) against each other and secretly plots to bring down the entire family. When Adam's obsession with the family raises questions, those who dig deeper into his past find themselves playing a dangerous game. With his world collapsing around him, Jamie starts to realise that Adam may be responsible for all their recent disasters — but is it too late to save his family?

In this revenge thriller that proves the past never stays buried, one question remains: how do you protect your family from the enemy within.”

Wood said in a statement (h/t TheWrap): “I’ve always wanted to write something for Jack Whitehall where he plays a baddie and I really enjoyed coming up with this revenge thriller with twists and turns that will hopefully keep everyone guessing. It’s been a dream to watch Jack and David Duchovny go head-to-head together. I hope viewers love it as much as I do.”

Alongside Whitehall, “Malice” features a talented ensemble cast. David Duchovny portrays Jamie Tanner, the patriarch of the wealthy family at the heart of the story. Carice van Houten plays his wife, Nat Tanner. The Tanner children are portrayed by Harry Gilby, Teddie-Rose Malleson-Allen, and Phoenix Laroche.

Supporting roles include Christine Adams as Nat’s best friend Jules, Raza Jaffrey as Jules’s husband Damien, and newcomers Rianna Kellman and Jade Khan as their daughters.

Filmed across stunning locations, “Malice” takes viewers from the sun-soaked shores of Paros, Greece, where the wealthy Tanner family’s holiday begins, to the bustling streets and elegant homes of London, where Adam’s sinister plans unfold.

Against the stunning scenery of Paros, the show is likely to explore greed and vengeance, elements that fans of the genre tend to devour on streaming. I’m especially curious to see Whitehall take on a more serious role, and with just six episodes, it could make for an easy binge-watch.

Stream "Malice" on Prime Video starting November 14, 2025.
