Every week, Netflix drops a slate of exclusive movies and shows, content you can’t watch anywhere else. And while this week is a little slower in general, there’s still a small handful of new arrivals that you’ll want to know about.
The headliner is definitely the “Peaky Blinders” movie, which sees Tommy Shelby back on our TV screens, and this time he’s facing a real reckoning. Other noteworthy picks include a feature-length documentary chronicling the rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the latest season of a YouTuber reality competition — you might not want to watch, but I bet your kids do!
‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’
Popular crime drama series “Peaky Blinders” returns this week, in the form of a new feature-length installment that sees franchise lead Tommy Shelby return. This movie has been created to serve as an epilogue to the main series that wrapped up in 2022, and while I’ve never personally seen a single episode (yes, I need to change that pronto), I’ve spoken to a few dedicated fans who have seen it already, and they have raved about its quality.
Article continues belowSet during World War II, Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) returns from his self-imposed exile to face what Netflix has described as his “most destructive reckoning yet.” With his family’s future at stake, Shelby is forced to confront his own legacy, or burn everything to the ground. Alongside Murphy, other returning cast members include Sophie Rundle and Stephen Graham. Plus, there are newcomers Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth.

'The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel'
The latest music documentary to land on Netflix charts the early years of funk legends Red Hot Chili Peppers. From their very first gig as the Peppers in 1982, to building a passionate fan base and becoming genuine global rock stars, this documentary explores the band’s rapid rise. It’s also been described as “candid,” not shying away from showing the group’s tendency towards controversy, and habit of taking all manner of illicit substances.
You might have noticed the inclusion of “Hillel” in the title; that’s a reference to Hillel Slovak, the band’s original guitarist, who tragically died of a heroin overdose in 1988. “The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers” puts particular emphasis on Slovak’s role within the band, and it explores his spiral into addiction, one that would ultimately be fatal. There’s little doubt this will be a must-watch original documentary for any RHCP fan.

'Inside' season 3
It definitely speaks to how slow a week for noteworthy new originals it is that I’m including “Inside” season 3 on this list. Usually, this reality competition, which is sort of like Netflix’s rival to “Beast Games,” is one I’d overlook. But not this week. If you skipped the first two seasons, it's a "Big Brother" like game show hosted by British YouTuber crew The Sideman, which is formed of seven of the country's biggest content creators, including KSI.
The premise of “Inside” is pretty straightforward: seven contestants (usually influencers with an established following of their own) are locked in a house for a week, and have to complete various challenges. Failure in these tasks deducts money from the overall prize pool, which starts at a hefty £1 million ($1.34m). Contestants can also be eliminated, adding a strategic, every-player-for-themselves element. Just be warned, “Inside” is definitely TV junk food.
