We’re somehow already flying through May, and while that’s slightly terrifying, it also means the list of new shows keeps getting bigger every single week. Between Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max and the rest of the streaming world constantly dropping fresh content, keeping up feels almost impossible. Still, Netflix remains the comfort streaming service for a lot of us (myself included), mostly because there’s always something new landing on the platform.
To stop you from getting overwhelmed, I’ve picked out three new shows worth adding to your Netflix watchlist. This includes a new crime drama that follows a relentless detective locked in a tense cat-and-mouse chase, season 2 of a comedy about a group of friends attempting to rebuild their lives, and a new season of an animated action series where a demon hunter-for-hire is forced back into battle.
If you’re spending the weekend binge-watching a bunch of shows, these are the three new Netflix series worth checking out.
‘Nemesis’
Perhaps the biggest show released on Netflix this week is “Nemesis,” a crime drama that marks the first major project from showrunner Courtney A. Kemp (the mind behind the massive “Power” universe) under her new creative partnership with the streaming giant. The series feels like a modern, high-gloss love letter to classic Los Angeles heist films like “Heat.” At its core though, it’s a battle of wits between a detective and a master thief whose personal lives begin to mirror each other in increasingly dangerous ways.
“Nemesis” follows Isaiah Stiles (Matthew Law), a relentless LAPD detective obsessed with bringing down Coltrane Wilder (Y'lan Noel), a charismatic businessman secretly leading a sophisticated crew of thieves in Los Angeles. As Coltrane plans increasingly dangerous heists while trying to maintain his family life, Isaiah’s pursuit becomes deeply personal, pushing both men toward a violent collision. Both sides are soon forced to make impossible choices.

‘Roosters’
“Roosters” is a Dutch comedy-drama that recently dropped its second season. After the first season became a surprise international hit for its awkward take on modern masculinity, the new installment doubles down on the “mid-life crisis” chaos. It’s slightly more cringe-comedy this time around though, as the humor stems from the characters trying to use the emotional tools they learned in season 1 (like self-awareness and open communication) in situations where they clearly don't know how to apply them.
Season 2 picks up with Mike (Jeroen Spitzenberger), Danny (Waldemar Torenstra), Ivo (Benja Bruijning) and Greg (André Dongelmans) trying to rebuild their lives after completing the “Roosters” course that pushed them to rethink their behavior and relationships. Convinced they’ve changed, the four friends attempt to become better partners, fathers and coworkers. However, Mike struggles with unemployment and a crumbling relationship, Danny tries to win back his ex while opening a new restaurant, Ivo questions his marriage, and Greg faces growing tension at home.

‘Devil May Cry’
“Devil May Cry” didn’t waste time jumping into Netflix’s top 10 after the release of its second season this week. In fact, it’s skipped by “Man on Fire” and “Running Point” to sit in the No. 3 spot. Following the show’s debut in 2025, this new season seems to deepen the lore while cranking up the stylistic action that fans expect from the Capcom franchise. The consensus for this season is that it’s bigger, louder, and more emotional, telling a more cohesive, character-driven epic.
The new season begins with Dante (Johnny Yong Bosch) trapped in cryogenic stasis after DARKCOM’s betrayal while a full-scale war erupts between Earth and Hell. As the U.S. government launches a dangerous invasion into the demon realm, Dante is pulled back into battle alongside Lady (Scout Taylor-Compton), who is searching for a powerful artifact tied to her family’s past. At the same time, Dante’s long-lost twin brother Vergil (Robbie Daymond) resurfaces as a servant of the demon king Mundus.
