Black Friday won't start in earnest for another few weeks, but that isn't stopping some retailers from slashing prices early. Case in point: this 86-inch LG 4K TV that's on sale for $899 at Best Buy.

The deal is for the LG 86UR7800PUA, part of LG's UR7800 Series of LED TVs. It's not an OLED like the award-winning LG C3 OLED or LG G3 OLED, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper, especially at this size.

At 86 inches corner-to-corner and nearly 100 pounds, this 4K LED TV is definitely a centerpiece for your living room. It doesn't have the screen tech to outperform the latest OLED TVs, but it does support HDR10 and LG's Active HDR mode that takes SDR colors and upscales them. It also comes with LG's WebOS smart platform that has generally been one of the best for the last few years. For under $900, this is a great deal.

So what's good about this model? For one, the size. It's 86 inches corner-to-corner. It's also new for 2023, so you're not buying a leftover model from last year.

In terms of screen tech, the TV supports HDR10 and LG's Active HDR mode that takes SDR colors and upscales them. It also comes with LG's WebOS smart platform that has generally been one of the best for the last few years.

That being said, there are a few drawbacks that need to be mentioned. For one, this is only a 60Hz TV and there's no real motion processing on-board. That means you won't be able to play games at 120fps. Moreover, there's only 3 HDMI ports, all of which I assume are HDMI 2.0b specified.

The TV's built-in sound system is only comprised of two 20W down-firing speakers. They will probably do the job in a pinch, but you'll likely need to upgrade to one of the best soundbars to get better dialogue clarity.

With 17 reviews and an average of rating of 4.5, it seems lots of users really like this model, so these issues could just be us being overly cautious.
