It's been a quiet period for VPN deals, but there's still some decent savings to be had. My VPN Deal of the Week this week comes from NordVPN.

It's the best-known name in the world of VPN, and here at Tom's Guide we rate it as the best VPN for most people.

I cover every major VPN deal and this isn't one of NordVPN's best. We have seen its price drop below $3 per month before and likely will again before the end of the year. However, if you want a VPN right now, and some extra cash ahead of the Easter holiday season, it's not a bad deal – and NordVPN Plus represents the best value.

I use NordVPN every day and believe NordVPN Plus hits the sweet-spot for value and features. With security and privacy at its core, plus a heap of extra features, we rate NordVPN as our #1 VPN.

What you'll get...

🚀 1,200+ Mbps speeds
📺 The best VPN for streaming unblocking
🔒 Class-leading privacy & security
❌ Not the cheapest VPN

A 2-year plan starts at $3.89 per month ($93.36 upfront pre-tax) and includes a $20 Amazon voucher. There's also a 30-day money-back guarantee should you want to claim a refund.

Free Amazon vouchers starting at $20

We've seen NordVPN give out Amazon vouchers before and this time looks no different. All two-year NordVPN plans, with the exception of NordVPN Basic, include an Amazon gift card worth $20, $40, or $50. Here are the deals:

NordVPN Basic doesn't come with an Amazon voucher and its price remains unchanged – $3.39 per month ($81.36 upfront).

All NordVPN plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee so you can claim a refund if it's not for you. However, be mindful that if you do this, there's no voucher. They'll be delivered between 31 and 50 days after purchasing a subscription.

Amazon vouchers are also being given away in the UK, Canada, and Australia. There are also price reductions throughout the rest of the world. You can check out our NordVPN prices and plans page to see what's on offer in your region.

NordVPN Plus is the best value for money

I'll say again, this isn't the best NordVPN deal I've ever seen, but I think NordVPN Plus represents the best value for money out of all US plans.

It's only $0.50 per month more than NordVPN Basic and alongside the core VPN features, you unlock NordPass, one of the best password managers, a $20 Amazon voucher, and crucially, Threat Protection Pro.

Threat Protection Pro is NordVPN's scam and malware protection, and this alone is worth the extra $0.50 per month. It protects you against scams and malware, as well as ads and trackers. It consistently outperforms every other VPN threat protection in our testing and it runs in the background even when you're not connected to the VPN. You'll only get the Lite version on mobile, but the full Pro offering on desktop.

Why I use NordVPN every day

NordVPN is one of my go-to VPNs. I use it every day on my phone and laptop, rarely running into problems.

It's lightning fast, capable of exceeding 1,200 Mbps. My internet isn't that fast but I consistently see speeds of 300-400 Mbps and have no trouble browsing and streaming on multiple devices.

Privacy and security is a priority for NordVPN. It recently completed its sixth independent no-logs audit and post-quantum encryption is supported across all devices. Double VPN and Onion over VPN add extra layers of security to your VPN traffic and there's the obfuscating protocol, NordWhisper. I'm not navigating internet censorship on a daily basis, but it reassures me to know that should I ever need it, NordVPN has a plethora of security features.

You can protect up to 10 devices on one plan and there's almost flawless streaming unblocking. NordVPN unblocked every service we tested it with first-time, with the exception of US YouTube. However, this is something we have seen almost every major VPN struggle with, so it shouldn't be seen as a dealbreaker.

8,000+ servers are available across 181 locations in 130 locations. ExpressVPN is the only leading VPN to offer more locations, having 188.

Again, this isn't the best NordVPN deal or VPN deal overall, that I've seen in recent months. NordVPN will almost certainly be cheaper later on in the year but it is a notable deal and the Amazon vouchers are a nice addition. If you're planning some pre-Easter online shopping or want one of the best VPNs right now, check out NordVPN.
