NordVPN, the best VPN for most people, recently underwent its sixth independent no-logs audit, once again proving that it does not store user data.
At the end of 2025, NordVPN commissioned Deloitte Lithuania, a member of the Big Four, to assess whether its systems and operations were aligned with its strict no-logs policy.
The move comes at a time when VPN transparency is under growing scrutiny. Users increasingly rely on VPNs to protect their browsing habits and location data, but in a crowded market, trust often hinges on whether a provider can prove it doesn't log user activity. For NordVPN, regular third-party audits have become a cornerstone of that strategy.

What did the audit find?
This latest audit marks the sixth time NordVPN's infrastructure and internal practices have been independently verified to match its no-logs claims. The 2025 assessment was carried out by Deloitte Lithuania, who examined the company's systems over a five-week period between November 10 and December 12.
Deloitte's team of practitioners were granted access to NordVPN's server infrastructure and technical systems, including its standard VPN servers as well as specialty configurations like Double VPN, Onion over VPN, and obfuscated servers. They reviewed privacy-relevant configuration settings, deployment processes, and technical logs. Interviews were also conducted with NordVPN employees to validate internal practices and verify that customer data is not logged or retained.
The audit was conducted under the ISAE 3000 (Revised) standard, a globally recognized framework for non-financial assurance engagements. It's frequently used to assess the design and implementation of privacy and security controls in complex IT environments.
For VPN users, a no-logs policy means the provider does not collect or store data about users' online activity. This includes browsing history, traffic content, IP addresses, and connection timestamps. Independent audits like this offer an extra layer of accountability, helping users verify that a provider's privacy claims hold up under scrutiny.
NordVPN has now completed six no-logs audits since 2018, with previous assessments taking place in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Each was conducted by a third-party auditor to validate that the company's infrastructure aligns with its public privacy commitments.
"Trust is the foundation of everything we do at NordVPN. We believe trust must be earned through action, not just words," explained Marijus Briedis, CTO at NordVPN.
"The sixth independent assessment demonstrates our commitment to upholding our no-logs promise year after year, under rigorous examination. Privacy concerns are at an all-time high, and we want users to know we have honored data protection since day one, and will continue as we push the boundaries of cybersecurity innovation."
The full no-logs assurance agreement report is available to all NordVPN users and can be accessed through the Nord Account control panel.
NordVPN has said it will continue to release future audit results to users as part of its ongoing effort to maintain transparency. The company says regular assessments like this help reinforce accountability in a space where privacy claims are often difficult to verify.
