4. Good Ergonomics On Screen

In spite of everything, the camera function does give the iFP-1090 one big asset. As it doesn't have an optical viewfinder, you focus on your subject via the screen. This is why it has a mini 1.2" LCD screen, which offers a very good quality image. The LCD is well designed to manage settings and for viewing info while playing sounds. In MP3 mode, it displays a graphic equalizer, the compression rate and the play mode, as well as ID3 tags, in a way that has never been so easy on the eye in a player of this size.

This screen makes the ergonomics of the iFP-1090 really shine. There are four buttons on the edge of the player. The main button serves as a joystick knob that can be used to browse stored folders and files or change radio stations or switch menus. The other buttons also have different functions depending on the situation. For instance, the same button is used to trigger photo mode and record in radio or voice record mode. A nice feature is the programming mode used to record from the radio on a specific frequency and at a set time. However, there is no MP3 encoding function from the line-in, which the iFP-790 and iFP-890 offer.
