The best gym shoes depend on what you enjoy doing. Most people need a shoe like the best cross training shoes, which are more versatile than out-and-out weightlifting shoes, and luckily, my three favorite pairs are on sale during Black Friday.

So far, Black Friday deals are astonishing, and we're not even fully there yet. With that in mind, take the hard work out of shopping for your next sneaker purchase with my three favorite finds as a personal trainer.

Nike Metcon 10
Save $39
Nike Metcon 10: was $155 now $116 at NIKE

I was lucky enough to be one of the first journalists to train in the Nike Metcon 10 before its official release, and it is a serious upgrade on its predecessors. Much more versatile, flexible and fun, I have adored putting this shoe on for CrossFit and weightlifting. You can definitely run better than the 8 and 9, but also burpees and box jumps come more easily, too. More spacious, but still offering the stability you need for barbell work. Big tick from me!

Reebok Nano X5
Save $31
Reebok Nano X5: was $150 now $119 at Reebok

Way more versatile than its predecessor, the 4, this shoe handles light running, weightlifting and HIIT, and it has transformed how I feel while I exercise because it's so comfy, supportive and stable. And guess what? First-time shoppers can take an extra 15% off at checkout. Not a first timer? Try Amazon's deal for $95.

Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3
Save $41
Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 : was $230 now $189 at Amazon

Another fantastic option is the Fuse 2.0. Although not the latest in the range, this shoe is super roomy and lightweight, and the shoe bends to your foot far more than, say, the R.A.D range, which is thick and plush. I feel like I'm free when I wear these, and they offer so much stability for lifts that I feel like I could be barefoot. At this price, what a steal, seriously. Price varies per model and size.
